Liked: Excellent staff, brilliant location and no pushing of tours!! One of the best places I've stayed in 6 months between Istanbul and Cairo

Liked: Location; right in the centre of town, easy to walk everywhere. The staff were great, especially the owner Ahmad, who can do a reasonable Aussie accent (!); very friendly, cool and helpful.

Liked: Location -- very near Old Aleppo and the national Museum and souks. If it wasn't central, and have nice staff, it would be horrible.

Disliked: lack of breakfast or any breakfast places nearby. The lack of hot water in winter was a deal-breaker. There's also no internet access at this hostel.

Liked: Location was fine, walking distance to the old city, and also the christian district.

Disliked: Sink in the room had leakage issues. Also squat toilets and not the most reliable hot water.

Liked: close to bazaar and aleppo castle

Disliked: it was horrible, rooms and toilets were extremely bad, we couldn't use the toilets and showers they were smelling and looking very bad. There was dust in the rooms, they were painting the wall while we were there, we couldn't sleep because of smell of those. This was the worst hostel I've ever seen in my life. Earthquake happened but the stuff was sleeping..

Liked: Owners were very helpful, friendly and fun - invitations to dinner and karaoke were a bonus as was a friend of theirs showing us around Aleppo.

Disliked: Rooms are a little run down and the bathroom was gag worthy.

Liked: The English speaking staff was very friendly and helpful in organizing our trip and also made a reservation for us in another hotel. They were also very flexible when we rescheduled our booking.

Disliked: Not everyone speaks English at the front desk. There was satellite TV mentioned in the booking which there wasn't. The room itself was okay but there was a shoe under our bed from someone else. There was not always hot water available.

Liked: The staff were really helpful and friendly. They organised nights out on the town and even organised a birthday cake for my boyfriend 29th celebrations. It was really nice staying at this hostel. The rooms are simple but clean. The bathrooms have hot water which can be a bit of a rarety in the region. The staff were really helpful in organising onward transport etc.

Disliked: Nothing. I really like it here.

Liked: Owner was a legend. He took us out to dinner with his friends on the first night, and we were invited to kareoke the nxt with more local and some of the travellers. They showed us a side of syria/Aleppo that we never imagined. the place is very clean, great roof top bar, and its just great actually meeting the owner of a hostel, who happens to be a young fun loving guy.

Liked: Worth the little amount you pay for it. Walking distance to the main sights... Citadel, souks, mosques etc. Very basic, but not unpleasant.
