Liked: this is a very new hostel, but so far they are doing well. you can actually walk here from the main railway station. it takes about 15 minutes. It is also located very close to the famous lion statue (hence the name of the hostel), and located close to a supermarket and post office. the hostel has secure lockers for you to use with refundable coin deposits. there is a kitchen you can use. it is expensive to stay here, but so is switzerland in general, and there is no included breakfast. the wireless can only be accessed between certain hours of the day (not at night) and not in your rooms. the staff aim to please. very happy with my stay here.

Liked: I was first surprised and delighted by its easily found location and then by its facilities(game room/internet/lounge/lockers in and out of the room/kitchen/sex separated bathroom). The bedroom is clean and bright enough. With its location beside a main road, it turned up to not be too noisy. The only imperfect part would be the lack of facilities in the bathroom (e.g. no light at the standing shower area/ hook for clothes hanging is located outside of the standing shower area/no sanitary bag dispenser and cover rubbish bin in toilet). Overall, it is a pleasant stay for me.

Liked: You can walk from the train station. The hostel is near the famous lion monument. There's only one bathroom on one floor, which you have to queue up when you want to use the bathroom; however, male and female are seperated. Internet connection is possible using your own laptop or the hostel's.

Liked: It's totally renovated so everything's BRAND NEW and CLEAN! Although the stairs, and from outside, it looks dilapidated. When I visited in late March, it was quite empty. I stayed on the 3rd floor where all the rooms were empty except for my 6-bedded dorm, which I had it all to myself on one of the nights. The area is safe, nice and very quiet at nights because there are no pubs etc nearby. So good place for a good night's sleep!

Liked: The hostel was clean and not smelly at all as indicated by other reviews, it was in a really good location - literally about a 3 min walk to old town or the waterfront. There are good big lockers in the rooms and the rooms are good, but a little cramped. Make sure you know what you have to pay when you arrive, we had a disagreement with the manager but it was all resolved - the other staff are really helpful and pleasant.

Liked: Nothing was particularly charming or awful. It was just...average. More expensive than I feel was worth it, but it is Lucerne. I was hassled about using creditcard, which was not appreciated as they offer it on this website. Internet is available, but at a 4/5 euro fee on a single computer used by the whole property. Not worth it. No restaurant on site that I saw, but there is a kitchen for use. Unfortunately you share it with the entire building and there is no order to the use.

Liked: Not the place to meet people if you're travelling alone. The hostel is basic and there is nowhere where the lights are bright enough to read. The rooms are clean but the halls look like they are falling apart...could do with a bit of a reno. The kitchen is good for self catering. The restaurant they tell you about on the website was not open the whole time i was there. It is walking distance from the station and close to the town so good in that respect. I would look for somewhere else before staying here again.

Liked: terrible staff. he would like to keep retained my passport. did not have a machine to take a copy. Sure that i can not give my passport, this was my only valid document at switzerland.he did not accepted my credit card because it was going to charge some taxes to him. but this was not my problem. if it was saying that accept..it would accept. it is not my problem.
