Liked: Do yourself a favour and stay at Balmers when in Interlaken. So clean, staff are very helpful, and we met heaps of other travellers, great social atmosphere. Loved it, would definately come back!

Liked: the place is awasome!! Parties, near sport activities. The beds could be improved, they look like IKEA do-it-yourself furniture.

Liked: Didn't enjoy our stay at Balmers. They messed up our reservation then made it our problem... staff were rude and unhelpful and overcharged us. Food at the bar was disgusting, anyone staying in a dorm had to leave their room from 10am-4pm each day. Balmers is very overrated!

Liked: 1) On the 1st of August the staff wore typical Swiss outfit. 2) From outside the hostel is nicely painted.Sorry, but that's all I liked, nothing else.

Liked: Great value, as long as you don't mind dorm living and a party atmosphere. Can't beat the location, and the free bus pass helps get you to the nearest train stations. Very helpful staff - maps, hiking trails, that sort of thing. Lastly, can't beat the happy hour. PS - Don't come here if you're trying to escape Americans!! Lots of college/recent-grad kids doing the summer tour of Europe. That being said - I had an awesome time.

Liked: too noisy from some drunk guyhostel is very old, must be careful to move in night time everybody in hostel will know every step you walk

Liked: I like that they book activities for you. And the staff help you out really well with everything. And that breakfast is included! And that there was a bus from the train station.

Liked: Place was clean & nice. There are heaps of common areas and a great place to meet people. Extra points for having a Piano in the dining area :)There are lockers near the baggage area, but pretty much no one uses them and the rooms are locked out during the day anyway. With the attitude of the people here, it's a pretty secure place.The showers & toilets are outside of the room, but they're clean and I've never had to wait.Since arriving here I've already extended my stay by 2 nights :)

Liked: Balmer's was THE place for young people to stay in Interlaken. Friendly staff, a fun atmosphere (like summer-camp) and plenty of activities. I've never had more fun at a hostel. Whether you want to or not you will meet plenty of other travelers and makes lots of new friends. Get ready to have lots of fun and probably extend your stay at Balmer's Herberge

Liked: Free Wireless was great, no lockers in dorms though(!) bring a padlock (some in luggage area). 15 minute walk from station. Super party atmosphere and the bar is open to the public, so security isn't the best. Little nightclub downstairs. Go here if you're up for getting hammered with loads of Americans but be warned they kick you out of the dorms early so you may be nursing that hangover for a while... Staff were very helpful, though overworked at times in reception. We were very kindly offered a lift to the station as we left which was a lovely touch. Breakfast is average, but free. Self catering not the best, very cramped for so large a place. Loads of lovely common areas. Be warned (though nothing to do with the hostel, but you might like to know) the supermakets close EARLY in interlaken!
