Liked: there was tons of people to meet. the bar was a great thing too because there really is no night life in the area.

Disliked: the partying got a little out of hand. it was a lot of frat guys just being too much. id stay somewhere else and come hang out here next time.

Liked: The buildings of Balmer's felt authintically Swiss. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Disliked: I am the type of person who likes to plan my own adventure. I didn't like being bombarded with opportunities to pay for guided outdoor adventures. My only complaint is that the hostel seemed too commercialized. The commercial hype brings a different crowd (too many Americans and Aussies travelling on their parent's money) than you might meet at a lesser known hostel.

Liked: the character and the environment was excellent. the food absolutly delicious and cheap! great idea for the area.

Disliked: the seurity was very rude at points. they also have curfews which was not fun at all ie; have to go inside after 10pm and there was not really many choices to just hang out other than at the bar (which was not even that good)

Liked: Balmers is a very good place to stay. We ended up staying 2 extra nights we were having so much fun. If u want to go to a bar or go out at all u have to stay here. The bouncers at night do not let everyone in. I loved it here. Its a great place to meet people, but dont plan on getting to bed be4 1 or 2ish!

Disliked: It is a business-oriented establishment; that's what they're concerned on. Their target audience is young kids that want to get drunk and make noise at night. I've been in some "party" hostels with great environment, but it is not the case in here.

Liked: it was at that time world cup, and u had everywere screens were u could watch it. Good admesfere even with all the differend nationalities.And interlaken is amazing!!

Liked: Absolutely charming hostel. Incredible location- the views are breathtaking. Great staff- patient and helpful, willing to answer all questions. The room was very clean. The hostel has a restaurant/bar on the property which is pretty great and a convenient way to meet people.Overall great place to stay in Interlaken!! would absolutely recommend to everyone!

Liked: This hostel was very fun, great place to meet people. The WiFi was practically non-existant, very hard to connect to and it disconnects every couple minutes. The internet they offer on their computers is very overpriced. They close the rooms from 1030-1400hrs to clean- which is annoying. But I did enjoy the hostel and would stay again.

Liked: that would be a perfect place to stay if the internet terminal does not charge 5 fr per hour...and sometimes u may feel disturbed by the bar downstairs if u often sleep early.

Liked: Place was great, bit of hassle when we arrived as we were put in room already full, but ended up being a good thing as we got a room to ourselves. We arrived on a sunday for 3 nights, so the metro bar was closed, although on the last night they opened it for a bit, with cheap 2 for 1 drinks. Definitly recommend this hostel! Breakfast wasnt that great either, option 1, bread and jam, option 2, museli and a piece of fruit.

Liked: good common facilities (it has its own club) except the kitchen is pretty average (all the knives are blunt etc) location is pretty good and there is a bus stop right outside so you can catch that in the morning to go up to the mountains. atmosphere is good...its easy to meet people in the communal areas. The showers were so strong it hurt to have one but the water was hot. Breakfast was a bit of a joke. You have to choose between 2 mini pieces of bread to make toast with or a small bowl of museli with a piece of fruit and that isnt enough to keep you going till lunch time (especially if your skiing). Luckily there is a supermarket around the corner and you can use the kitchen to make a proper breakfast. All in all was a fun place to stay, but there could be improvements.
