Liked: The theme of a prison, the decoration was presented very good. I liked it most of all. And it didn't looke dangerous :). Also I liked the facilities provided in the room I booked: private toilet room with the shower, TV, free WiFi....

Disliked: The way to kitchen was a bit unsuitable: you need to go downstairs to reach other stairs and then go upstairs to the kitchen :)

Liked: Very interesting location. Former prison very well renovated, very impressive rooms. Different setting makes the hostel unique and intersting. Location is good, especially for summer.

Disliked: Not a place to meet people. No real communal areas or congregation point. Restaurant and bar were not open.

Liked: Very clean and actually not so far out after all. 15 minutes to nearest station walking and then a few stops into town. I suppose if you're not used to walking this may seem far but coming from London it wasn't a problem at all. The hostel was very quiet too which I liked and it was nice having a pub on site. Oh and having free wifi was a huge bonus.

Disliked: nothing at all really. It was my first hostel experience and I was pleasantly surprised!

Liked: The atmosphere was just hilarious! There´s an interesting historical background as well which contributes to the comfort and unique characteristic of this hostel. It´s quiet far away from the city center but it´s easy to get there with the city transportation whether by bus or metro.

Disliked: There are not enough signs to get to the place in the website´s address provided in hostelbookers.com.

Liked: The rooms were big and the beds very comfortable; private locker which you can use and has personal key to your locker. Big windows - very spacious and light. Clean toilets and bathrooms!

Disliked: There was only one bathroom at the floor which was not enough in my opinion.

Liked: Unique converted prison. Rooms set-up well although quite small - but you can't really expect anything else in a former prison!

Disliked: Having to pay extra for bed sheets and location was a bit out of the way.

Liked: Great breakfast buffet, really worthy! Reception open 24 hours 7/7. Everything seems to be quite new and extremely clean. There is also a kitchen available for the guests.

Disliked: The only bath thing (to say something negative) is that bed linen and towels are not included in the price.

Liked: Langholmen is a very nice and clean hostel.

Disliked: Besides linen and towls the cleaning of the room costs extra! Location is beautiful, but not very central. The other guests were mainly families and older people and the atmosphere therefore was not a "international hostel" one. Didn't meet any new people. But as Langholmen Hostel is located next to the sea, there are a lot of young locals around picnicing etc.

Liked: Its on an island! A completely different experience to stay in a prison and have a key to your cell. the beach is clean. Ideal place for couples as well as family. A very well equiped kitchen. There is also a reading area. The location might seem far at first but its fine if you take a bus. For some it can be a walkable distance.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Great atmosphere inside the hostel - used to be a prison. Very beautiful building and surroundings, on an island with the best swimming spots. Also good was that it was away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Was very peaceful.

Disliked: A bit too far from the nearest subway station.

Liked: A truly different place to stay - it really felt like being in a prison, although the room was furnished nicely and was very comfortable. Staff were superb and helped over and above what is normal, offering maps, finding out train times and making no fuss or diffculties on anything. The location is just under an hour away from central Stockholm and Gamla Stam, but a walk into town - either across the big road bridge heading north and then east, or the more obvious route along the south of the lake made a pleasant stroll in the morning or even, with boats, parks and picturesque architecture - and the route and end point are obvious, so no need for tedious map reading searching for directions.

Disliked: At the end of the day, when you are tired, the choice of £3 fares on the metro or a long walk is annoying. The £9 each for a breakfast was too steep for us, and the extra payment for not being members of Hostel International and for sheets was a little disappointing - but really these are minor things - the hotel is so luxurious and different that it provides an absolutely wonderful stay that is well worth the extra money.

Liked: We stayed in the 'hostel' section from 3rd to 8th July, and the 'hostel' section on 9th/10th July. The rooms were very nice, with high standard en-suite facilities, TV, safe etc. The male staff on reception were very helpful and the cafe on-site is decent value for Stockholm. The location is a little out of the way but it gives a nice walk back to town if you don't mind 45 minute walk, or a 10 minute walk to the metro. Most of the people staying at the hostel are families which makes it a bit quieter and is nice and relaxed. The kitchen is well equipped, clean and spacious. You can also hire private mini-fridges for a 50SEK returnable deposit.

Disliked: The 'hostel' section feels like an add-on to the newly refurbished 'hotel' so I would recommend finding out which section you're in. The new area appears all en-suite. The female reception staff weren't friendly at all or particularly helpful. While the location is very nice and there is a bathing area nearby, it does mean that people descend on the island every sunny day and leave very late at night, so be aware if you're looking for something quiet in the summer.

Liked: It´s very clean, surrounded by beautiful nature with it´s own beach and you get to be in a place that´s a museum at the same time. It´s not very far from the metro. I felt really, really safe at all times. If I ever come back to Stockholm I will definitely go to the same hostel even thou I´m one of those people who like to try new things.

Disliked: They should make a small cafe by the water and put some chairs and umbrellas. The place is otherwise very nice.
