James FrolikEVERYONE was friendly and accommodating. And it was actually a lot more than we expected or even planned for. Why? During our Jan/Feb 2009 stay we were told that the actual hostel part of Långholmen is not typically used during the midst of winter and therefore the nicer hotel facility is provided for guests who book the hostel for this time. Hence we were provided a hotel room way beyond our "hostel" expectation—apparently for the Långholmen hostel price. Additionally, although reaching the place is not a real quick transit as compared to other hostels and hotels we researched--especially during the freezing winter--it's nonetheless a NICE walk! Quiet area too. And I can only imagine how much nicer it is during the summer months. |

Customer reviewThe atmosphere was great! The room and the bathroom looked really good! Everything was really clean and decorated with thoughtful and interesting details. Many interesting information about the prison were given. And the free entrance to the museum was awesome! |

Customer reviewThis hostel is very clean and modern. The conversion from the old prison to the accomodation it is now has been done excellently. Looks great, and for the price is good value for money even when converting back in to GBP. However, Långholmen isn't very central and there isn't much going on in the way of nightlife, but there are a couple of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hostel. Having said that, a 5 minute walk and you are at the Hornstull Subway station which is only a few stops away from Slussen and T-Centralen where you'll be able to find a bustling nightlife! Although we weren't there to long to experience the city enough we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Centrally it is very 'touristy' (and expensive) but a beautiful city nonetheless with great nightlife and enough to do during the day. |
