Liked: - It's gorgeous. This is a world-class hotel which happens to rent out some rooms hostel-style. It's on a private, park-like island only about ten minutes' walk from the metro station. The rooms are tiny (they weren't kidding when they said they were converted cells), but that's part of the fun of staying in a renovated prison. The space is cleverly and neatly used, and everything is quality. The bathroom was floored with black slate, for crying out loud! The staff is highly-trained and very helpful, although that special hostel 'in' with what's hot in the city is a bit lacking. However, being a hotel, note that the other youths staying there are hard to connect with, unless you run into them on the lawn out front. - The area is great, a sort of 'Greenwich Village', with lots of local eateries, young people, and utter lack of tourist pandering. A great, relaxed area to come back to after a long day of sightseeing crammed amidst thousands of other tourists. - I should mention that the hotel completely runs with the 'prison' theme. The enthusiasm is endearing.

Disliked: - The youth vibe is a bit lacking. My friend and I had a beer in the cafe garden every night (food is bought from the front desk, rather than served), but the restaurant seemed to be entirely a middle-aged or convention crowd, so be aware that you'll probably be going out for your kicks in the evening. - The rooms are technically ventilated, but you'll want to open your window every night to feel like you're getting enough air. Probably a function of the room size, though; I wouldn't sweat it.

Liked: It's really interesting. You stay inside this museum and it's got all this history which is really cool and fun. It's also on a beautiful little island with this beach right in front of it and a really lovely set of trails to walk around on.

Liked: Very clean , unique setting , good breakfast , nice dining room , good location (10 minutes from the subway) and very quiet.

Liked: location very good, lots of trees and water, benches etc. had a triple-bed room with very nice bathroom ensuite, and tv.

Disliked: kitchen not great - had the feeling it's probably not used very much - but adequate for our needs.

Liked: The style is awesome. It used to bve a prison, so they decided stick to that point. Amazing idea!

Disliked: Area was not that close as I wished but still walkable distance.

Liked: An interesting place to stay since it is a prison :)!!! It is very special and thats what it makes so amazing! U have the beach right in front of the door, if its summer in stockholmu can go down there for a beer. Very nice!!!

Liked: It´s an old prison, which is beautifully renovated. It´s located on a small island, which basically is a park. There is also a beach there. It is about 30 min to walk to the city center (The central sation), but you can borrow bicycles at the hostel, or buy a pass for "Stockholm city bikes".

Liked: amazing concept, very special ''prison'' environment, quite clean, next to a nice lake and 10mins from the tube, the stuff was really friendly

Disliked: not the cheapest, but regarding Stockholm prices it was quite cheap

Liked: Langholmen is a nice and cheap place to stay in Stockholm. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good.

Disliked: The breakfast costed €10,- a day. The walk to the nearest metro and supermarket was 10 minutes. There weren't many rooms to sit down and relax with friends (only one room with 9 seats).

Liked: This place was a very interesting and unique place to stay. It served as a prison and the decor keeps very well with the history, but has been updated to feel friendlier.

Disliked: It was a bit expensive, but still rather reasonable for Stockholm.

Liked: The thematic was very clear in the whole property as this was an old prison. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped as well and the staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English (as in almost all Stockholm). The rooms although small are very comfortable and well equipped. Was within walking distance of the bus stop and subway station. Also there is a nearby supermarket that you could use to buy your goods for dinner and such. Would certainly return there in a future visit to Stockholm.

Disliked: I did not dislike the hostel at all, but perhaps if there is a "turn off", it would be the location. Perfect would be if it had the subway station next door :) Besides that, nothing at all!

Liked: Nice location, but you have to walk so about 10 min from the subway. If someone looks for a perfect breakfest, he will find it there. Preice is about 10 EUR.

Liked: staff is nice. and there is a supermarket right beside the station so it is possible to save some cost in sweden. kitchen is VERY clean

Disliked: remember to have your YHA card ready for check-in or else you will be charged for 50SEK per person per night!
