Rygerfjord Hotel and Hostel

‘Rygerfjord Hotel and Hostel,’ a former cruise ship, floats by the banks of trendy Södermalm, minutes away from the centre of Stockholm and within easy reach of public transport. Reasonable prices, free internet, local parking and flexible operating hours!

The ‘Rygerfjord Hotel and Hostel’ lies in the heart of Stockholm, within walking distance of the galleries and cafes of Södermalm and the cobbled streets of old Town. In winter, its cosy rooms are the ideal place to look out across frozen Lake Mälaren; in summer, the boat provides the perfect base from which to enjoy the various activities Stockholm has to offer!

Guests have access to the maritime style lounge with cable television and a bar service. Our main bar hosts a range of Swedish beers and ciders, as well as the usual. During the long summer evenings our top-deck bar is open. Here our guests can enjoy a cold beverage alongside magnificent views of Lake Mälaren. Unfortunately, due to fire regulations, we do not have guest kitchen. Our onboard restaurant offers bar menu.

Rygerfjord is close to Stockholm’s extensive public transport system (underground, bus and train) with easy access to Old Town, various museums, cafes, bars, live music venues and the Stockholm International Fair (Stockholmsmässan).

Accommodation Information

Rygerfjord offers low rates for both hostel and hotel services. The boat has 70 rooms, ranging from single rooms to a twelve bed dormitory. The reception is open from 8 a.m until 11 p.m., however late check-in is possible if arranged in advance. Check in starts at 3 p.m. For your safety we are staffed 24 hours a day. We serve a breakfast buffet between 8 and 10 in the morning for additional SEK 65pp.

You can bring your own 'clean' sheets or rent them from us (sheets SEK 40, towel SEK 20). It is obligatory to use bed linen, sleeping bags are not allowed!

Public parking is available just outside, and we offer free internet access to our guests, including wireless LAN. Our knowledgeable staff is happy to answer any questions and point you in the right direction during your stay.

Unfortunately, due to security reasons, we do not allow children under 12 years old. For further information please contact us directly.

There is no curfew. However after 24.00, please show consideration for other guests.

Please note that all changes and booking cancellation must be made in written form and have to be reconfirmed by us!

We do not take groups over 10 people.

Location Information

With a five minute walk guests can reach Gamla Stan, Mariatorget and Slussen Underground Stations as well as Slussen bus terminal and the ferry to Djurgården, where you can find the Nordiska Museum, Skansen, the Vasa Museum and Junibacken.

The boat is in easy reach of Old Town, where people generally head for the castle, the old square and the Nobel Museum or spend time wandering through the narrow, cobbled streets and enjoying the atmosphere.

In the other direction lies Södermalm, a popular island which hosts numerous cafes, second hand shops, galleries, parks and live music venues. This is the ideal place to soak up the Stockholm vibe and participate in Sweden’s favourite activity: drinking coffee.
