Overview
Ideal place to stay for budget- travelers, families, golfers or sports teams. In the beautiful Swedish countryside, next to a golf-course and lake Vättern. Gymnastics, table-tennis, pool, plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen. Every room with its own character in Swedish traditional style.
The whole building is renovated in traditional Swedish style. It is next to Hökensås golf course (has 27 holes) and has a view over the enormous lake of Vättern where you can swim, fish, wind-surf, sail etc. In the middle of the beautiful, unspoiled Swedish nature.
It used to be a school and the old gymnasium is kept in original style. There is a piano and an organ, which the guests can use. There is a TV room and stereo. 5 different lounges. Outside there is a large lawn and play-ground. Plenty of place for parking.
During the whole year conferences, business meeting and courses previously booked take place. Popular for family gatherings and events.
There is a well equipped, spacious kitchen for self-catering. If you would like breakfast prepared for you, you’ll have to order in advance.
The rooms are arranged so that 3 rooms together have private bath. Most of the rooms have double beds. Some have separate beds.
When larger groups (sports teams, family gatherings etc) come, they usually prefer to book the whole building at 3500SEK per day.
Closest airports are Jönköping (60km) and Skövde (40km). Bus 404 between Jönköping and Hjo stops close to the hostel (get off at the golf course). Closest town is Hjo (9000 inhabitants), which offers all facilities of a town. It is famous for its traditional buildings and well preserved ancient atmosphere. A small harbor, swimming pools, library (with internet access), museums, aquarium. Every year in July there is a handicraft fare, usually visited by thousands of people.
