Liked: The location was great.

Disliked: The rooms were not secure and the lockers did not lock. The kitchen was not equipped adequately at all and the breakfast was the bare minimum

Liked: urban house has 4 (i think) little hostels in its one. So each one is tiny and is really really friendly. I stayed in the main hostel and enjoyed it so much. There's breakfast, though its quite simply just people's leftovers!, a kitchen, a great little social area, wifi. Its a good place

Disliked: the doors never actually lock. From the street theres a buzzer that lets you in automatically, the door of the hostel is just push and its open. and our room was never locked. Even so, it felt rather safe.

Liked: Staff were very helpful when we arrived. There was a BBQ on the night we arrived, heaps of food, great atmosphere & great way to meet people. Free WiFi and free breakfast, though nothing fancy was still greatly appreciated.

Disliked: Kitchen a little dirty and half the hot plates didnt work. Noone seems to pay attention to the quiet after 10pm request so if you are a light sleeper could be an issue

Liked: Great place to stay, right in the heart of old town. As other people have mentioned they have 3 properties and mine was very good. The staff are really helpful and ask you to contact them for anything (although with the amount of information they give you I'm not sure why you need them). In reading some other reviews regarding "noone being about" this is not true and I'm sure we are all old enough to not need someone to hold our hand. Very happy with the hostel

Liked: This hostel is fairly nice and when I was staying there were loads of great people staying there. Pub crawl was good fun and helped break the ice. Breakfast included, very good central location and helpful staff. Would go back.

Disliked: Possibly cleanliness, price, lack of lockers, only one computer, wifi temperamental

Liked: The place has a lovely relaxed and comfy feel to it.

Disliked: It's in need of a few repairs and I got bitten by something, either bed bugs or something else because room mates left the door open and there are no screens.

Liked: Good atmosphere, location is excellent. Staff have great recommendations for places to eat and things to do and are very friendly.

Disliked: The security situation was very bad. There were no lockers and it was possible to gain entry to the building just by pressing a button downstairs. This situation was particularly disturbing given that staff seemed to be happy to let people into rooms if they said they were staying there. We were woken at 1.30am by a banging on the door telling us to let in another girl who was staying in our room when it was full. The hostel is also on the main square so quite noisy (although that is a bonus at most times, not if the San Sebastian City Council decides to blast R&B at 9am on a Sunday morning).

Liked: good location, easy to meet people, good kitchen facilites, free breakfast, free internet. staff at the main reception helpful

Disliked: only one toilet flushed properly via a string tied to the inside of the bowel. showers were pretty dirty. bedroom floors always covered in sand. very expensive for below average facilities.

Liked: I really liked how when we arrived that the girl gave me a map of San Sebastian and told us the best places to go to eat and drink (without me asking her) it was really helpful as we had forgotten the guide book!

Disliked: Where we stayed was a five minute walk from the office which I thought was a bit pointless. And when I checked out I walked back to the office to hand in the key only to be told I could have just left it in the other room where the room was, even though there was no member of staff there to ensure we had checked out at 11!

Liked: Fantastic location and really easy to follow the directions. Really relaxed, and a good place to meet people. Do the Monday night pub crawl!

Liked: My time spent at this hostel was well good. At the time, just a couple of weeks back it seemed the place was not at its peak cleanliness wise which can be seen in below reviews.. but upon returning to the hostel last week to bid fairwell to the lovely kate, anna, and jay i was amazed at the turn around. nothing like a kick up the ass to make a change i guess. With that out of the way, i can honestly say i never imagined i would have had such a relaxed "at home" kinda of stay while in san sebastian - which turned from a stopover to a week long stay. the place is much less a hostel than it is a share house. everyone who stays longer than a couple of nights becomes buddies and it really is "all good". So, if your on the road defintely consider dropping in, meeting the crew, and hanging our for a bit. But be aware that if your just doing an inbetween stop and looking to get some good sleep, you should go elsewhere.

Disliked: Facilities are in need of renovation (kitchen stove/toilettes), staff did their best to accomodate though and were always helpfull with everything!

Liked: location and the two british girls running it. they were friendly, helpful and tried their hardest with a really run down and poorly maintained (by the owners) apartment. Its not their fault people were incapable of cleaning up after themselves after they cooked.

Disliked: the owners need to wake up to themselves - you cant charge such a high rate and then dump people in your sister apartment which is absolute crap compared to the original with reception. the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting - i felt sorry for the two girls having to clean them - FIX THE PLUMBING!!!!!!! the girls maintained the bedrooms to a high standard. but they can only do so much with what they were given. also the female at reception (the owner/manager i'm told??) is extremely rude, arrogant and unhelpful - check you actually know where you are sending people before you give directions.
