Liked: Location

Disliked: Booked a double private room, room we were given had no windows or air con and was very hot. Bed bugs a good possibility.

Liked: location was brilliant, organised pub crawl was fun, helpful staff

Disliked: Staff need to pay more attention to the customer infront of them rather than answering the phone.

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, homey feel, like living in a big apartment, great location just next to parte vieja and 7 minute walk to surf beach or shorter walk to la concha.

Disliked: They messed up my reservation the first 2 nights, but then they made up for it. The safety of the hostel is iffy; just make sure to lock your rooms and keep your personals in the main lockers at reception.

Liked: Location was pretty good though our room was above a bar so a bit noisy at night. Free internet access and a breakfast of sorts.

Disliked: Noisy - not from outside (to be expected in a city) but from inside because of thin walls and doors and dodgy locks on the doors which caused a lot of banging and rattling. Dirty - the showers and bathrooms were not clean with damp ceilings and shower curtains etc. Our room didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. Staff - some good but one guy was utterly hopeless, when I complained about something, he just shrugged! Beds - creaky and not very comfy, the linen and pillows were not good. Breakfast - some bread (margerine and jam if you're lucky) and cereal if you're lucky) but only if you can find clean crockery and cutlery. Value for money - we stayed in a 6-bed dorm to save some money but it wasn't really worth the price which wasn't that cheap all things considered. The hostel is completely geared up for Antipodean backpackers. If that's you, then great. If not, DO NOT BOTHER!!

Liked: The room was large, clean and the apartment had a good vibe. We were not in the main building, but only walked 2 mins around the corner to a smaller buiding and it was fantastic.

Disliked: th door key did not work on the first day. but they changed that over as soon as i asked about it.

Liked: The location was fantastic. Right in the heart of the old town. It was also good value considering how touristy San Seb can be.

Disliked: That there was no reception in our building (there are 3) so sometimes it was hard to get information when you wanted it without trekking to the other main building.

Disliked: Missed the thursday activity! Damn! But that was my problem!

Liked: location, very close to the beach and old town

Disliked: wifi never worked! They did offer free computers but they were always busy, no time limits. There were no lockers in bedrooms. The chill out room and kitchen closed at 10 so there was nowhere to pre drink before a night out or hang out if people were sleeping in the dorm.

Liked: Very social Hostel, heaps of computers to use the internet for free, two kitchens, good size common area to meet people. Hostel runs events such as pub crawls, spaghetti night

Disliked: There were plenty of bathrooms but they were often dirty. One morning a man was able to get into the hostel and all the rooms on one floor and he stole laptops, phones, cameras, money from almost everyone staying on that floor!!! This may have been due to the guests leaving their rooms unlocked while sleeping rather than the hostels poor security

Liked: Friendly english speaking staff who tried above and beyond to help untangle our room bookings. Excellent private room in Miramar house with an window the entire width of the room you could open and sit out of (great in the heat!), unexpected free breakfast and very central location. All clean and good, recommended.

Disliked: Slight lack of bathrooms - just two between what I think is probably 18 beds fully booked. Only other issue is finding it - the entrances to the various houses are rather discreet!

Liked: Great location, very clean, bathrooms spotless and new towels given every day.

Disliked: only thing was it was very noisy at night (worse on weekends) if the balcony door was closed it was ok but we were there in summer so needed it open. I had ear plugs so all good.

Liked: Great location. Had a fully equipped kitchen, a good size common area with a back deck. Rooms that didnt have windows at least had fans

Disliked: Only 1 bathroom to share between around 12 people. The shower was broken but still usable.

Liked: I loved the vibe of the staff and other backpackers who were very friendly and helpful. The location in the old city is perfect and really convinient. I had so much fun.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: A lot of space in the bedrooms, good kitchen.

Disliked: The beds were awfull, my back hurts like hell now. And it's dirty.

Disliked: Bathrooms were undergoing renovation - constantly ran out of hot water. Beds were a bit dodgy.

Liked: Friendly atmosphere, easy to meet people as a solo traveller, organised events (e.g. BBQ evening, pub crawl), super location -close to shops and the beach

Disliked: Unclean bathrooms, weren't enough toilet facilities, noisy as balcony opened onto the street, unsafe as doors hostel/room were always unlocked

Liked: Really helpful, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good number of bathrooms.

Disliked: Checking in with all my luggage, then having to walk to a different building. It was really close by but just felt further with heavy luggage. Would it not be possible to arrive at and check into the plaza gipuzcoa bulding, if staying there? Also, the "locker" described was tiny (only for wallet and passport), so I couldn't lock away my laptop. A staff member very helpfully allowed me to store it in her room, however i would have much prefered access to a decent sized locker.

Disliked: the bathroom floor got a bit dirty at times, but it was cleaned daily so it wasn't that big of a deal.
