Liked: Location was good although we were made to stay at Uzturre Backpackers which is a different location to Ongi Ettori which we booked.

Disliked: 1. wifi did not work 2. no towel on first night as they had not done the washing 3. booked a twin room but given a 4 bunk bed dorm 4. Booked Ongi Ettori but made to stay somewhere else. Took us 2 hours and paying a Spanish lady to find where we had to go. Tried to call owner but phone not connected. 5. Bed horrible. Springs dug into your back and mattress dirty. The sheets looked about 50 years old too. Didn't get any sleep whilst there. 6. Filthy bathroom 7. Filthy kitchen with old smelly rotten food in fridge. Barely any eating utensils in kitchen. There was also no hot water in kitchen so thinks were not being properly or hygienically cleaned. 8. Our complaints were ignored and no one seemed to care. I would have rather paid extra money for a hotel stay as this was terrible. Do not stay here !!

Liked: The lady running the hostal was freindly and the location was very central. However, it was filthy dirty, stains on the sheets and the rugs/carpets had not been cleaned for a long time. There was a dof left to run around freely which was a problem for me as i am allergic and there were dog hairs everywhere

Liked: It was clean and quiet. The bathrooms were nice and clean too and the room was very big with a balcony. The only problems were that the hostel was not in the address located (and the hassle in finding out where the right one was) and that there was no luggage storage.

Liked: Very good place! it's in the hearth of the old town and very close to the beach and to the pubs. It's an hostel but the atmosphere is very friendly, and you feel more like in a home with friends! it's great if you like to meet people from all over the world. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful (tks Caio!).Rooms are small but clean and the shower is very hot.Just a little bit too noisy in the night during the Semana Grande, but you're not in Spain for sleeping ;-)

Liked: i think the hostel is not a hostel. it is more than that because it is very personal and you can have a very nice stay there ...so i think even for people travelling alone it is perfect i had a very nice time there

Liked: it was extremely friendly atmosphere here. The locatioan is heart of the center which is close to beautiful beach and night life.. with a help from receptionist that make you feel like home... thanks for everything... it was special staying in Guesthouse Ongi Etorri - San Sebastian, SpainEger gunun birinde yolunuz San Sebastian a duserse.. kesinlikle bu hostelde kalmanizi tavsiye ederiz...hersey icin tesekkuler...:))))

Liked: I have been traveling in Europe for a month now, and to say the least not all of the hostels have been up to par. However I must insist that the ongi etorri is the best hostel I have stayed in thus far. The staff is incredible and extremeley friendly. When we first arrived he showed us all of the great surf spots and pubs. When we needed help arranging a cab for our morning departure, the staff helped us do so. Overall I definitely recommend that you stay at the ongi etorri its close to the beach and in a relatively quiet part of the old town, but still only a block away from all the action.
