Liked: Hostal Tormes is a "hostal", note, and not a youth-oriented backpacker's "hostel". This means it is more like a pension, which means it doesn't have a common room or kitchen etc. It is not a place to hang out. It does provide free Wi-Fi.However, it represents amazing value and the rooms are very lovely. Best for us, after several weeks of sharing big dorms, a private double was the same price as a dorm at Hostal Tormes!! Also, the staff were lovely and went beyond the call in assisting us. Overall, we had a very peaceful and restful stay, which enabled us to recharge our batteries for the next part of our trip.

Liked: although the kitchen wasnt said by the management on the website when we ask them to use the kitchen they allowed us and it was so kind of them. the location was perfect. we didnt face any problem. also it was so clean and the staff were so hearty, helpful. we suggest everyone this hostel.

Liked: Staff were very nice, helpfull and friendly. They allowed me to leave my luggage there even after my check out time. It is very close to the main places, just two minutes walking from plaza mayor. Honest price!

Liked: It is conveniently located right at the centre of town - you can walk everywhere you are likely to want to go in about ten minutes, including the university sites. It is less than 200 metres from the Plaza Mayor, and all of the other ´must see´ tourist attractions are less than 400 metres away. Pedestrians have priority in Salamanca, and few vehicles are allowed near the centre anyway, so this is not like being in the centre of most cities - walking around is a pleasure. Because of the heat of the day, many Spaniards keep very late hours, and if you are a light sleeper, you will want a room at the back of the hostel as rowdy revellers will keep you awake until the small hours if you are at the front. At the back, because all buildings here are substantially built, you will hear virtually nothing. Some of the furniture is a bit worn around the edges, but everything is very clean, and you will have everything you need. The real bonus is the landlady. Our daughter is embarking on a year´s study here at the University, and the landlady spent the best part of two hours on the telephone on her behalf, ringing about accommodation. She wanted nothing for this. She speaks Spanish and French. We highly recommend this hostel.

Liked: The staff was just incredibly nice!!! The location was perfect, too; just two minutes from plaza mayor and the street, rua mayor, is one of the busiest streets for pedestrians.

Liked: excellent location, secure building, very helpful staff - We had a late train to catch and we were allowed to keep our stuff in the room and lock the keys in the room once we left without having to pay anything extra:)

Liked: location is perfect. right next to the university, plaza mayor and many places to see. staff was very friendly and room and facilities were very clean. its very quiet, not really a party or meeting people type of hostel, but definitely very well priced for its location and what if offers.
