Liked: Location is just on the perimeter of the center of the city. Everything is by walking distance.

Disliked: Got no windows in my room except for into a corridor, so a bit dark. Used the room only for sleeping, and just one night, so was ok.

Liked: Clean, pretty, staff very helpful.

Disliked: My room for single person had a bad smell (I couldn't feel the smell elsewhere in the hostel).

Liked: Everything is very clean and the bed and linens were comfortable. It has a nice kitchen and a good location.

Disliked: The walls are pretty thin- while the hostel itself wasn't a loud place, any talking or movement could be heard in our room.

Liked: I liked absolutely EVERYTHING! My boyfriend and I stayed in a double room and it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We really liked the room! The common areas were clean as well, the kitchen was spotless! One of the staff, Sandra, was extremely helpful. She gave us a lot of useful information about Malaga and suggested some tapas bars and places to visit. We also met the owner, Massimo, who was extremely helpful and nice: when we went to collect our luggage after we had checked out he let us use the toilets and take a shower which we found a very good gesture. We slept well and we felt safe. Moreover, the location is great: 10 minutes by walk from the station to catch a direct train to the airport and very close to amenities and the historical centre of Malaga. We will go back to Malaga and we will go back to La Casa Mata.

Disliked: Nothing, everything was great!

Liked: I liked that it was near to the city-center & it was easy to find it, David & the other receptionist were very friendly and helped us with lots of advices. Thanks guys!

Disliked: Babuska & tatuska...the old persons that seem to discover the internet from Casa Mata, but they were just guests. :))

Liked: staff are super friendly

Disliked: the price of the room is not worth the value. I got a tiny little room - only space for a small bed and a shelf, with no fan, the only window is facing the hall so I can't really open for air to come in because people could easily see into the room - yet the price is the price of a regular single room.

Disliked: - Cold Showers both days - Only one bathroom for half a dozen rooms - Shower and toilet in the same room (not great for so many people) - No Air-Con in room

Liked: Communal kitchen was really good idea although we didnt have cause to use it. Would be excellent if you were backpacking and on a shoestring as you could cook for yourself. The owenr was very helpful at explaining what there was to do in Malaga. Our shower broke and it was fixed straight away.

Disliked: Only a couple of the rooms had airconditioning. We were in one that didnt and it was baking hot. There was a fan but it didn't really make that much difference. I asked if we could be moved to a room with aircon but the owner became quite grumpy. Also, the bed was very cheap and uncomfortable.

Liked: Good decor, nice welcome, clean.

Disliked: The aircon in the rooms makes the rest of the hostel much too hot and the rooms are not secure as you can't lock the windows (which ajoin the communial corridoor). Had to wait for bathroom often

Liked: The price is reli cheap. The staff are nice.

Disliked: One of the room is very bad, the stair is very deep to assess the room. The view from that room is very bad and seems unsafe. Another room is okay. However, we felt disappointed on the bad room we were assigned. The location of the hotel is fair.

Liked: Very friendly guy working on the front desk, laidback vibe, free internet, just able to come and go as you please without any hassle, and amazing shower in the twin en suite room!

Disliked: Slightly further out of the city centre than would've been ideal, but not a major hassle, just laziness speaking...

Liked: We stayed here for 4 nights as first-time hostel goers and were very impressed. We were greeted very warmly and allowed into our room earlier than expected. Room 8 was a very spacious private triple room with air conditioning, a big wardrobe and a safe. The shared bathroom was kept very clean at all times. Similarly, the shared kitchen was very clean and well equipped with free tea and coffee. We did not use the kitchen to cook in but were able to leave labelled goods in the fridge which was very useful. The hostel had free wi-fi and a computer with internet in the reception area. The hostel was generally quiet and any occasional noise at night was easily blocked out with ear plugs. Can't praise the owner enough, he was always very welcoming and helpful, sorting out any problems we had immediately. He annotated a map on our arrival which we used throughout our trip. As 3 young girls we felt very safe in this hostel - a nice surprise! The location of the hostel was great, restaurants and shops were reachable within 5 minutes and the beach in 15-20 mins. We were really pleased to be in the heart of Malaga, a fun and friendly spanish port.

Disliked: Due to the shared bathroom there was occasionally a queue for the shower.

Liked: The kitchen is nice and free internet. Quite cheap.

Disliked: Paper thin walls (a couple on the same floor had sex all night long and it seemed like they were in the same bed with us). Lot of mosquitos. Common bathroom doesn't have much privacy (hole on the wall).

Liked: Great location, short walk to everything you want to see in Malaga. 15 minute walk to the beach- although a nice and interesting walk. The staff was incredibly helpful.

Disliked: It was advertised that there was an airconditioner in the room, but it was unassembled when we went to use it around midnight and no one was available to assemble it for us. Id recommend checking before reception closes and making sure someone is there to set it up because the rooms get hot!

Liked: Reception staff was helpful and very welcoming and I was upgraded to a private room with ensuite. Only stayed one night, but the room was clean and adequate for a quick stopover. In a fairly central location, approx 20 min walk to train station. Wifi available in room and free use of computers in reception, big kitchen area and free tea and coffee.

Disliked: The hostel is down a little side street, so the taxi will drop you off at end of street for you to walk to the door, OK if your taxi driver knows where he is going otherwise might be hard to find! My room was right next to the reception area so could be very noisy when other guests came in from a night on the town!
