Liked: Well I think I will have to give you the first rating I have made on hostelbookers.com and believe me I have been booking many rooms on this site... Anyway, we have had a reservation for first three days we were in Spain.The room was totally awful, 4 army beds, no closet, only 4 safes 15x20cm. We had 4 big bags and there was suddenly nowhere to move.There were also dangerous wires hanged out of the walls right next to the bed and one of electricity sockets in between the beds was unscrewed, so it was keeping to fell out from the wall quite often... It is not fair from the owners of the hostel, when you book the room three months in advance and you get such SH*T, besides we have seen other rooms and they have looked quite OK according to the photos on the hostelbookers.com. We have asked also for a room change and explained the whole situation (we hav made fotos of the room,etc. as well, but the owner just said, that he can not relocate us to other room as everything is booked, bla, bla, so we have asked him to give us the money back for the rest two spare days and we left to other place...With respect to all supporters I have to say, that I hope those who have red this WILL NOT BOOK LA CASA MATA hostel in MALAGA, SPAIN

Liked: Nice and helpfull staff, a bit noisy in the evening though if you're not that much a party-person, but it's alright from 12pm. Modern lockers, fully equipped kitchen and nice breakfast included.

Liked: There is just one bathroom per floor. Long lines for showers etc.There was a loud hostel party until 2am...even though the staff promised to turn off the music at midnight.

Liked: kitchen in which you can make food yourself, lounge with dvd player/playstation/music...great great people, lots of possibilities to get to know new/interesting people

Liked: the colors of the kitchen and the living room were pop and very energising, the bath room were very clean but the jacuzzi was broken so impossible to use!, the staff speaksdifferent languages, very helpful but sometime lazy at night, i had to insist ;o) . Sometimes at night noisy because of the music (I was on the first floor, close to the stairs...

Liked: This place has everything you need. Fast free internet and wifi, kitchen, common room with tv and ps3. Soundproofing however is pretty bad, so your good night's sleep will depend on how the other guests behave themselves. Staff is excellent and helpful (although you shouldn't believe everything that funny italian tells you).Hostal itself is safe with lock-and-buzzer -system and 24h reception to keep unwelcome people out, but those crappy lockers will open in 20 seconds with a pin.

Liked: There wasn't clear direction from bus or train station to the La Casa Mata Backpackers. However, it is located at north west of the bus or train station. One has to walk towards Calle Carreteria, once arrive Calle Carreteria, the Calle Molinillo del Aceite is located at the 4th turn at your left. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes by walk.

Liked: Good location right downtown, close walk to the castle and sights etc. Not a very communal hostel, good for a place to sleep, but not great for meeting new people if you're travelling alone. Bathroom was very clean and the shower had great pressure and temperature for a hostel, although apparently there are only 2 for the entire hostel; I didn't have to wait. No toaster in the kitchen.

Liked: poor breakfast..there are only 2 toilets and they are in the bathrooms (also 2), so when someone is taking a shower you have to wait..tiny kitchen with only 2 chairs (problem if you're 3 or 4..)

Liked: Great party hostel. Quite noisy. Good fun making the free breakfast with all the guests in the morning: good ice breaker! Shower was a bit crap. Really genuine friendly staff. A bit hard to find.
