Customer reviewWe only stayed one night and it was fine. Quieter than we thought it would be, which was good. Very small room but it had air conditioning which was great. |

Adam Glen-BottThe price, location and cleanliness are great. It's best for couples travelling together as the rooms are really private. However if you are travelling solo you will struggle to see anybody else. We didnt see anyone else from the hostel during our entire (3 night) stay. The fridge is a good idea but no cooking equipment so its almost redundant. Avoid Madrid over mid-August because EVERYONE is on holiday so no shops or restaurants are open. |

Paul Eerhartcontradictory to expectations, it's not a backpacker hostel. More like a hotel room in a regular appartment, in the centre of madrid. No backpacker facilities like kitchen or central meeting-room, but very much value for money. We had a private room for 19.90 euro p.p. It's a bargain, location was excellent. Close to main attractions and the metro station. Including fridge and bathroom, sharing with just four others. Both bathroom and room are cleaned every day. It's a jewel if you compare it to regular hotels! cheers, paul |

Emma Fernandezfelt more like hotel apartments than a hostel - good for travelling in a small group, but not so great for individuals looking for a partying/meeting people sort of hostel. |

Chris GoldbyThis is the Fort Knox of hostels!! I could not have felt more safe and secure than in this hostel. Or rather Hostal...It has a passageway from the main secure door to a large, communal lounge on every floor with the largish rooms that could also be locked. Well am assuming the other rooms were largish....by contrast the elevator was the smallest I've ever been in...but you cant have everything. It was also one of the cleanest hostels I've been in and was centrally located to the nearest underground station (Manuel Brecca) and only ten minutes or 15 at most to the major sites in the city. Unfortunately there was no breakfast served there and no internet available unless you have a laptop. The staff were very helpful and the only thing that was really lacking was a major communal area for the whole hostel as apart from a couple of fellow Aussies it seemed fairly deserted at the sunniest time of the year!! So it meant a drawback on the atmosphere unless you already knew friends that were going there. Thankfully it was well positioned next to a fantastic cafe whose rapid service with tapas, coffee and beer really gave you a taste of the friendly locals... |

Nikki LuI only stayed a night before as I was flying to another city, the single room I stayed was clean and the shared bathroom next door was spotless. The staff was very freindly and speaks good English. The hostel is near Metro and in the nice part of town. I am pleased with my experience in the hostel. |

Customer reviewIt might be a hostel, but it felt more like a hotel. The room was nice, light, clean and with a lovely wide window. There was even a common room with TV, sofas, a small dining table and a fridge, which are all nice things, when you want to relax after a heavy day of sightseeing. The staff was helpful beyond what was required, both in advice on where to go and how to get around, as well as help with booking. All staff also spoke excellent English. Also, once you have checked in you are free to come and go exactly as you please - even at check out, which is very helpful. Overall our stay at Hostal Salamanca was great! I would definitely stay there again, if I was returning to Madrid another time. |

Customer reviewExcellent. Located between two Metro stations and within close walking distance of the bullfighters arena. Very nice place to stay. Really liked it. On a separate note, watch out for pickpockets on the Metro! |

Barry CollierThis is quality clean Hostel that is really almost like a Hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful. I enjoyed staying here as it felt very welcoming and close to down town Madrid and the airport (30 min) with the Metro a short walk. I definitely recommend it. It also had good wi-fi connection (I'm sending this feedback from the Hostel). |
