Liked: its location is the best !! near to metro and if you want to spend a day without using the metro, everything is within walking distance, if you really want to enjoy the beauty of the city. the room is very clean and so does the toilet.

Disliked: nothing.

Liked: El Pilar is literally steps away from Plaza del Sol. Also the staff is friendly and helpful. It was not the best place I have stayed in but I would go back:

Disliked: Odd, the rooms are poor, though the bathrooms are tiled and there are flat screen tvs in the rooms.

Liked: Excellent hostel! Nice rooms with all services (TV, air conditioner, private bathroom, free Wi-Fi), very clean.

Disliked: Nothing at all.

Liked: After hard day it's nice to enter good-smell room (not ironic, room smells fantastic), lay on good bed, and watch Champions League HL ^^ +GREAT location. Not so noisy in the night as i though. So worth to stay there. Definitly recommended

Liked: Place was clean and tidy. As far as I know there was no common room and i only talked to the staff when i checked in... the room was quiet and clean. The location was great... just a couple blocks from Plaza de Sol and not far from the Metro.

Disliked: You had to take your key with you. They would buzz you in at night..but they didn't check to see who was coming and going (or so it seemed). But we had the key so it was pretty secure.

Disliked: Room was on the small side but not terrible. They have a system of buzzing you into the building then giving you your key but it seemed that anyone remotely respectable looking could get buzzed in and ask for any of the keys hanging up (they don't ask for your name and confirm that you are the rightful room booker).

Liked: Hostel is in the heart of the madrid, 2 minutes to Sol center..it was really clean as smelling soap..

Disliked: only one of the staff speaks english..it was difficult to communicate..

Liked: The location really couldn't be beat - it was right next to Puerto Del Sol. Additionally, it was incredibly clean, and the staff was overall very nice. Plus the shower pressure was excellent.

Disliked: While there really wasn't anything "bad" about this property, it would have been nice to have a bar/common area to meet people in. It was not the most fun hostel I've stayed in, although the pros certainly outweighed the cons and I would definitely recommend it.

Liked: Very close to the station and centre of Madrid.

Disliked: There are a lot of hotels in the area, and so building work going on, so it was quite a noisy overnight stay. This could be a temporary thing, but it was difficult to rest.
