Liked: The location is pretty good

Disliked: The loud wooden floor, no kitchen, no locker and everyone is really loud, too much student staying long term and blasting music on all night, and can hear people have sex 5 floor down.

Liked: This hostel was spotless! I loved how clean it was. Also wireless internet was available in the rooms which was great. The location was great (right next to the metro) which was super helpful too.

Disliked: The rooms had no air conditioning or fans and so it was very hot which made sleeping slightly difficult. There is also no kitchen which means we had to eat out a lot more often. The receptionist(s) didn't speak great English which meant we weren't able to inquire about opportunities in Madrid.

Liked: Just the location!

Disliked: The room was really dirty, a lot of hair on the floor. The woman that received us at night was terrible, really bad, and wasnt there, took a long time to come, when she came treted us bad, she didnt show your room, that was in onother floor and we had to do by yourselfes. In the morning someone in other dorm was screming ELP because was locked in. They didnt have map (for me is not a hostel, but a really bad hotel)

Liked: The location was great! It was also very clean for such a large hostel and the amount of travellers. It was pretty basic, none of the staff spoke much English but were helpful nonetheless and overall it was extremely good value for money

Disliked: Rooms were very hot at night, could have done with a fan in the room in summer

Liked: It's pretty handy, well located and it's good value for money. You get access to the Internet from all the floors (there are several floors and many rooms, but I didn't hear any "uncommon noise").

Disliked: I'm pretty happy with the hostel. Just to complay about something, I'd say the lockers are not big enough (but big enough to put your important stuff, but not my whole backpack)

Liked: It's close to subway station and within sopping and restaurants.

Liked: After a 4 hour delay by Easyjet at Geneva airport I finally arrived in Madrid. No Metro at 2 am so it was a bus and then another bus. I arrived at 4 am. Reception was there and so was my bed. The reception didn't want to disturb other travellers at that hour. So he gave me a 6 bunk dorm to myself. Well, I had paid for one bunk anyway. I stayed 2 nights and the room was all mine.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Excellent location. My friend and I had separate reservations for an 8-person dorm, and we were put in a 2-person room together, which was fantastic and so much better than we had expected. It was clean and well-managed.

Disliked: There was no air conditioning, which was awful on days where it reached 98 degrees F. There was also only one bathroom per floor, which wasn't too bad for us since our floor had few people on it.

Liked: The member of staff was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Very accommodating and informative.....nothing was too much trouble. The location is ideal, located close to the centre and near to the Metro system. My room was clean, tidy and quiet. It was a bargain for the amount of money I paid.

Disliked: Not much character or atmosphere in the hostel, but there weren't many people staying. Also there were no computers to get on the internet, however, they did have WI-FI.

Liked: It was clean, comfortable, lockers in the room, good location. Walking distance from all the big museums and sights. Overall if you're looking for a cheap stay in Madrid with no frills it's a good choice.

Disliked: Breakfast was mediocre, just toast and cereal, some of the staff were extremely unfriendly, there was no kitchen or common room area and no other services offered - very little information about the city, no books, no games.

Liked: The hostel is at a great location in Madrid, just at downtown and a few meters away from metro stations.

Disliked: The worst point was the cleanliness of the showers. It was good some days and really bad others.

Liked: The location wasn't bad, it was located on a really busy street with a lot of high end shopping. That is honestly the only positive thing I can say about this hostel.

Disliked: The hostel was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my entire life. Let me give you an example to better understand the lack of cleaning in this place: there was throw up all over the toilet seat in the girl's bathroom and the receptionist/manager walked into it to go to the bathroom. She literally saw it, walked out and into the other stall, and never fixed it. The shower was by far the most disgusting part of the hostel, as it clogs for some unknown reason and they don't seem to want to fix it. So in about 30 seconds, you'll be up to your ankles in dirty water in a shower that hasn't been bleached in years...or better yet, you'll walk into the shower and notice it hasn't unclogged, and if you wait 2 hours it'll still be sitting there! Not to mention the actual shower curtain had some pretty serous mold on it by the looks of it. On top of the cleaning issue, the security is the most hilarious and disturbing part of this place. They have you ring the buzzer downstairs before letting you in, which I can see in their minds as some sort of "security" measure. HOWEVER, I had been in and out of the hostel 20 times and can assure you that they have not once looked at the security camera footage or asked someone who they were before letting them into the building. Additionally, the hostel it self just has open doors (in a 20-something floor apartment) 24/7 with no way to lock them. It wouldn't be so bad if you could feel assured that your bedroom door was sturdy, but that's obviously asking way too much because the doors don't even properly close, leaving them unlocked if you don't slam it every time you leave/come in. So to sum up, they let anyone in off the streets, they never close their doors to the hostel and the bedroom doors don't always lock. ...Yeah, it's pretty grim. Honestly, I'm not really the type of picky person to complain so much about a place unless I really felt strongly about something, and I can say that my stay here was the most uncomfortable and disgusting them of my life. I couldn't even tell you how nice Madrid was because I was constantly worried about someone stealing my stuff (which, by the way they have no lockers in the room and no luggage room, just some lady's office...so have fun with that if you have a laptop or something valuable...). Overall I would tell people to pay 5 extra euro and stay someplace where you feel comfortable enough taking a shower, going to the bathroom, and sleeping at night. Because I can honestly say you won't get that staying here. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Liked: Position in front of the metro station.

Disliked: Starting by the name. You cannot find it. There is nos turismadrid, but Arti. This is the name. They told you they are in the 3rd floor, but if you go inside by lift to the 3th, you find nothing, because they are in the 2nd (3rd if you count the ground floor. It's old, like a republic for students living there, so, not the normal hostel. There were only 2 showers. In one of them there was no places to hang on your clothes. WC room was too small, almost impossible to sit there.

Liked: Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. For example I could let my luggage in hostel even, when I was checked out. (I leave Madrid at the night the day of my check out and it would be dificult for me take my luggage into the city)

Disliked: I am not sure, but I´d like to have bigger luggage room. -> Because I had a big bag and I coudn´t get it into luggage room. In the street in front of hostel you maybe coudn´t find the hostel, because its name is Residencia Arti so, if you try to find Turismadrid Hostel2 you woudn´t be probally succesful. And more entrance isn´t well-marked.

Liked: Great location, right next to Plaza Espana. Our fellow travelers were interesting to talk to. Building is pretty secure and our door lock worked well.

Disliked: Had to ask to get keys for the free lockers, and even then we only got some. Only got one key for a group of 6. Also, beware of what time you have to be out: depending on who you talk to, it'll be different.
