Liked: Openness, the courtyard

Disliked: Bathrooms--too far away from rooms, the showers weren't very convenient (no stalls to change in, water went all over the floor)

Liked: Great common room, decent hostel breakfast, helpful staff (they made sure we were all in the same room at late notice) and quiet rooms.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: It's good value for money, located very centrally and very clean. Decent breakfast is served, free internet. Overall had a pleasant stay. Love the lockers and room locking system too.

Disliked: As I've worked in a hostel before it is hard not to compare. I forgot they had a gym as I had a quick look online before booking and never been told it. (Not that I would use it...:D) Just saying they could have just explained it fully at the check-in, about hostel facilities, nights out, tours, etc. I appreciate the fact the hostel is worried about water saving but to be honest those showers are a bit annoying. Also not a big deal but bunk beds were a bit uncomfortable and small so you cannot see in the bottom bunk bed if you want to read or something.

Liked: It has a nice roof terrace and a (very) small gym. The courtyard is also attractive, though completely wasted.

Disliked: Some of the staff are extremely hostile. The receptionist when I checked in could not seem to comprehend that my lack of cash for a deposit was not me being unco-operative but due to a problem with my bank account. She treated it as the greatest imposition in the world for me to leave my passport as security instead, even though I would obviously have been prepared to pay the €10 by debit to get it back if the braclet-key thing had somehow come off my wrist and got lost. The common room with the computers inconveniently closes at 3:00, even though it is just a tatty room and not near the dorms, so neither theft/damage nor noise could be a problem. (The computers are secured and reception is right by the exit anyway.) I'd booked a ten-bed dorm but was 'upgraded' against my will to a six. (Turns out that the ten-bed dorms don't exist and are just a marketing ruse.) I prefer larger dorms as the total space is more important to me than the number of sleepers. The six-bed dorm was approximately the size of a shoe box, and arranged by the winner of a bad-layout competition: instead of having a bunk against each of the non-window walls, they were in parallel and literally about half a bed-width away from each other. My neighbour would have seemed further away had we been sharing a double bed. To make it worse, the hostel had for some reason decided to fill all three top bunks but only one of the lower ones.

Liked: The area is close to the subway. You could even walk here from the main train station if you want. I met some awesome people here. You make your own fun

Disliked: Weird locks in doors. Small rooms. Minimal breakfast.

Liked: It had a great location, near to the Rambla and the subway.

Disliked: There were no locks on the bedroom doors (which didn't actually close properly), and no safes in the rooms. Our room had a window directly onto the street, and it was very very loud at night. The other option was a tiny room with no window at all. The bathroom was dirty and mouldy, and I had to wait fifteen minutes to shower in the morning. It is not a hostel, it is more like somebody's living room - who rents out a few beds.

Liked: The location is great really close to everything and the staff were really nice and helpful :)

Disliked: The bar closes early, but other than that it was good :)

Liked: Staff were mostly helpful. Activities out of the hostel were fun, location was near most of the stuff you want to go to in Madrid. Lockers were large and safe.

Disliked: Beds were uncomfortable and loud. Very hard to sleep and the hostal is very dark. Internet kept cutting in and out. Kitchen is just awful.

Liked: Only that our busabout bus picked us up from there. Was a short walk to parque de sol.

Disliked: Too many, rooms are tiny, not large enough for bags with all people there. Showers are joint for the floor and have no space/rack to get changed/undressed in the cubicle and if someone opens the main bathroom door u could be caught in a bad spot.. The hostel is in a dirty backstreet. The staff are pretty rude, didn't even acknowledge us for some time when we checked in, just kept talking, didn't offer a map etc. We left early

Disliked: Me robaron la netbook que estaba guardada con candado en mi bolso dentro de la habitacion. La unica respuesta del personal de la noche fue que no se hacen responsables por la perdida de objetos personales de muy mala forma. Solo la recepcionista de la mañana y el jefe se mostraron mas preocupados.

Liked: Great location, very clean, loved the lockers in the rooms. A/c very good in bedrooms.

Disliked: Staff not very friendly or welcoming, and breakfast was fairly non-existent. Still, would stay again for location and facilities.

Liked: good value for the money, good central location within walking distance to almost everything, I liked the free wifi and the people seemed cool although I only stayed there for 1 night. The receptionist was very helpful with helping me plan my day and figuring out how to get to the airport.

Disliked: Didn't love the showers, but not a big deal.

Liked: the staff were helpful and friendly, once the wristband keys were worked out they were quite handy and convienient. safe and secure and premises

Disliked: the showers were terrible u have to press a button in every 15 seconds or so for the water to continue to run, there is no room, nowhere to hang ur towel or clothes or put your soaps and stuff. very loud in the rooms can hear everything happening in the courtyard

Liked: Clean dorm rooms with individual lockers, aircon in rooms which was a bonus in the 40 degree Madrid heat, breakfast included (cereal, toast, coffee, juice etc), common area with cheap beer available from the vending machine, free internet in common room (although sometimes the computers/internet connection didnt work), good location (only about 2 minutes from two different metro stations).

Disliked: The fact that the aircon temperature was controlled by reception was a little annoying - we would have preferred to be able control the aircon from the room. However, all in all a pretty good hostel in a good location. Would definatley reccommend.

Liked: the atmosphere was very good

Disliked: The air condition was unreasonably put in the ultimate level during the night(while outside was about 26-27 degrees celcius!) with result that you might get cold unless you had a blanket or sleeping bag with you (the hostel didn't provide blankets though only sheets). Also during my stay a guy woke up drunk and urined inside the room and on the stuff of other people who were sleeping there but the stuff though he didn't even apologise after that they didn't draw him away.

Liked: Good location, fairly clean, able to print itinerary for free from reception

Disliked: power socket in room did not work, air condition in room gets extremely cold at night! toilets and showers does not have any hooks to hang up your clothes or towel.

Liked: It had a great common room with comfy sofas all around the walls, and a big pool table which was nice to relax in and meet people. There were washing machines as well which were much appreciated after traveling for a few weeks!

Disliked: The room keys were completely over the top and really annoying to use and carry. The amount of times people had to ask to be let in to their rooms because they couldn't get their key to work was a joke! Plus they asked for a 10Euro deposit for them and who has that sort of money spare when they're backpacking??!!
