Liked: it is a good place which is better than i thought. the price includes the breakfast and the croissant is fantastic. the safety is really good for the girl travelling alone.

Disliked: the kintchen is clean, but the stove cannot work properly.

Liked: It was really cheap & it in pretty convenient location.

Disliked: The rooms were way too small!! My room was for 6 people and any other hostel I stayed in would have had 4 or less people in a room that size. The showers are also difficult to use. They shut off after around 1 minute and then you had to push a botton to get it back on. Not a big deal but still annoying.

Liked: I think the location and breakfast is very good~~~all the staff very clean. and the map is very helpful~

Disliked: i think it is quite noisy for thoes who want to have a good sleep. cause when i was there people going out and come back at around 4 in the morning!!!really cant have a nice sleep.

Liked: Security keys were a good idea. Breakfast is nicer than most hostels who just offer coffee and a piece of toast.

Disliked: Bathrooms were pretty dirty and the rooms were tiny. There was barely any room to move around, no room to sit, and one plug-in for 6 people. Beds were children's bunk beds - really short and not high enough to even sit in the bottom bunk. They were also really squeaky so if anyone moved, the whole room woke up.

Liked: the location was great, easy to walk to everything and easy to get to from the airport. The front desk will turn on the air conditioner if you ask them, otherwise the rooms are very hot. The lockers were free and large enough. You can leave your bags after you check out in a secure room.

Disliked: Internet connection is spotty and slow. They claim to have a bar but it was not open on thursday or Friday. The beer vending machine was nice but it ran out of beer and they do not let you bring outside alcohol into the hostel. the locks on the doors are very hard to figure out. There were some loud people but it was to be expected in the city at night.

Liked: Clean, friendly and very helpful staff

Disliked: The area isn't great when coming back late at night. Also the map that they give at the hostel can be difficult to read - I recommend using the one from the tourist info desk at the airport!

Liked: The hostel staff really tries to fight the dirt in the bathrooms, in the morning the people are cleaning every 30minutes, i guess. the dirt comes from the ignoring people then. so it can be that you are more lucky with your roommates than we were. I really liked the locker-system, which reminds on spa-keys. the breakfast is small, but its great that it is included. the staff was very nice and helpful and the hostel building was very bright and friendly.

Disliked: The rooms itself (me and my friend slept in a 6bed-room) were very small and the beds too short for both of us. that was not relaxing at all, but quite ok as we stayed longer in the city than in the hostel.

Liked: The security system is good

Disliked: the bathrooms were terrible, beds were average and crammed into the rooms, staff weren't too helpful and breakfast is literally one croissant or bowl of cornflakes, one juice and one tea or coffee..

Liked: It was a very friendly environment. Free breakfast. Useful information around the hostel.

Disliked: Their free tour of the city and tapas tour is very bad. DO NOT GO ON THIS TOUR. All you do is walk around and see 3 or 4 things.

Liked: The staff I met were helpful and friendly.

Disliked: My room was so tiny that I couldn't even open the door all the way, the bed was very uncomfortable and there wasn't enough room to sit up in bed. Also, the free breakfast was only a croissant (but it was a yummy one).

Liked: the common room the security

Disliked: the lady on my arrival was very rude and unfriendly. i booked the wrong date which I understand is my fault but when asked if there was room she made out i was lucky to have anything (only to find my room half empty) i was briefly pointed to the door and thats it, when asked where i can go for dinner, i abruptly got "everythings closed" she really did not make any effort to help me at all or even put a smile on her face.

Liked: payed for a 6 bed dorm, but got a dorm with only 4 beds, ensuite facilities were good and clean

Disliked: breakfast only from 8 to 10

Liked: the common rooms, and the secured lockers.

Disliked: bed are to low if you on the bottom of the double decker bed! you cant even sit on the bed.. The bed is only suit for kids. the shower is not good, you have to keep pressed the shower button or else the water will stop automatically. there is no place to put you toileterries! shame!

Liked: It was only about a 5 minute walk to the City Center's infamous Puerta de Sol. Breakfast was small, but plenty to hold me over for a while. The staff was very helpful and gave me a map when I needed directions. It was nice being able to come and go as I please. Overall, MAD hostel is a great place if you just need a place to stay for cheap that is close to the center of things.

Disliked: Rooms were small, but good enough for sleeping in. Shower was supposed to be hot 24 hours, was hot the first day and last day, but not the second day I was there. Bathrooms were not the cleanest, but I've seen worse too.

Liked: It was cheap and fairly central to everything in Madrid. The free breakfast saved a few pennys!

Disliked: It was quite noisy at night - definately a hostel for party people. There were only 4 showers and 3 bathrooms - although this never seemed to be a problem because everyone else got up late in the day after partying all night!
