Disliked: Very cold in winter no heating

Liked: This is the cheapest, location very nice ( airpòrt shuttle very close and city centre too) and private room.

Disliked: The cold + we had to pay 2euros more per person for the linen and towels.

Liked: Nothing, the staff and the room are shitty!! Room is so tiny that you barely can move, it is also dirty! Toilet is small and dirty too! They gave us dorm bed instead of double bed we booked and did not want to give us compensation. What they want is your money and give you some shitty rooms. The staff were rude and unfriendly too. Always give empty promises, when they promise something, do not believe them. They have us to move our luggage twice although we booked 4 nights. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOSTEL, you can get better hostel and similar price!!

Liked: The guys beard was pretty legit!

Disliked: They were not prepared for us, we were not able to stay where we had booked and had to walk a great deal to the other places we had been booked for.

Liked: I liked the location, it was a 10 minute walk from the centre but opposite the Paseo del Prado museum...perfect, really. I also stayed in a room with a balcony, and it had such lovely views - green trees and even a little bit of the Palace of Communications, plus the sun shining in every morning.

Disliked: There aren't enough showers and toilets.

Liked: the location

Disliked: we had booked with friends with plans to stay in the same place, we arrived at 2pm to check in and were made to wait for about an hour in the lobby only to be told that there was no space in the hostal (even though we had a reservation and made a deposit weeks earlier) we were told they had a room available 5 minutes away and to come back tomorrow when they would have a room. when we came back again at 2pm the following day we were once again made to wait an hour only to be told AGAIN that there was no space and that we had to once again move to a different location. really unorganized and besides the price i would not recommend this to anyone,....

Liked: Very good location, head english speaking staff looking like AC/DC man. :) The toilets are clean, however little bit funny.

Disliked: We were in another room, because we arrived later, than we wrote during reservation. This is the reason, why the staff take our booked room another people.

Liked: We had a private room outside of the hostel which was as a small flat. You came straight into the bedroom and on the right you had a toilett with a shower. Tiny, but everything you need when your in Madrid to go sightseeing! Perfect temperatur during the night though of course some noise from the streets. This is a minimum of noise, since its located in a small quiet street 20meters from the nightlife.

Disliked: Nothing.

Disliked: First impression: Elevator was like from dungeon. Defenetly not for claustrofobic people. Doors need to be precisely closed, if not the elevator sounds as it will be blown up. When we called the man to open the door he put us on ignore two times and we were waiting (international call), then he hang up, we were desperate and angry, so we left but then he at least called us back. He was kind, but when we entered lady who accepted us was calling him and they were fighting on the phone. Afterwords everything was OK and hostel was really useful to leave the louggage there and for sleeping. We have even done the shower.

Liked: Let us leave bags in the room until the afternoon

Disliked: We booked the double with shared bathroom however when we arrived we were told we were to be transfered to another room. To our surprise when we opened the door there was a bathroom, then we realised we were IN the bathroom. It was a bathroom with a mattress in it... The bed was between two walls and being a little taller (6ft) I couldn't fit in the bed without sleeping diagonally, this would have been fine if it was just me. The smell of the toilet, which was only seperated from the bed by a flimsy curtain, was overpowering after an hour. You couldn't even use the toilet as there was a step up to it that made sitting impossible for anyone taller than 5ft 5. The place was noisy, it must have been right under the water pipes for the building as every time someone used the toilet the pipes clanged and were very noisy all night. We had to take sleeping tablets to get any sleep it was so uncomfortable. I would advise spending extra (even 20 euro a night extra) to get somewhere tolerable.... This was hands down the worst hostel I have stayed in.

Liked: Location

Disliked: I felt as though I should have been paid to stay there. The man running it looked like he was trying to hide his identity he was rude and intimidating. The rooms were unclean and the bathroom was horrendous, there was paper held up with masking tape instead of a window. to flush the toilet you had to pull a peice of string that was submerged in the cistern, the shower was a very high tap on the wall, there was mould all over the walls and everything you touched was filthy.

Liked: cheap price, good location.

Disliked: sink in the room was full of hairs and didnt drain, one tiny bathroom for the whole floor, often others were showering and there wasnt even a toilet available. bathroom cleanliness was hit and miss, with so many using it and irregular cleanings.

Disliked: I was wrong ... I paid the fee of the card with the online reservation and at check in, the owner, a scary man with a beard, hat and sunglasses, demanded more than the reserve. I did not like and do not recommend.

Liked: basically the location and also that it was extremelly cheap!

Disliked: it was extremelly dirty...we booked a double ensuite..but we got just a room with a shared bathroom!!anyway the common bathroom was extemelly dirty with muldy shower curtains and cocroaches floating in the bath tub and some also walking around in the bathroom.!!! The room was so and so..but we totally expected it since it was so cheap and we just wanted a night of sleep there and nothing more
