Liked: The location, including the view from our window

Disliked: We didn't get the room we asked for, the room we did get was really cold and the bedding was insufficient to compensate and in general the facilities were not what I'd expect for the price

Liked: I had a good experience at this hostal - note this is a hostal, not a hostel. Which means it's an inexpensive option for a private room and not a typical backpacker's hostel where you'd find common areas, etc. Despite other reports, the person managing the front desk was friendly, even after I checked in at the wrong place (don't check in at the Paseo del Prado location, go to the other). Maybe I lucked out as I ended up staying in the same building where I checked in, and the room was clean and well-furnished. It really was excellent value for the money. Without a doubt the cheapest option for a private room in central Madrid.

Disliked: Bathrooms were clean but needed refurbishment. I was a bit confused over where to check in.

Disliked: - Very dirty - They told us that we would have private bathroom, but it didn't have toilet seat - Without curtain - Noisly - ...

Liked: It is in a good location and is cheap. The man working at it is friendly and looks exactly like 'Santa Claus on holidays'!

Disliked: Having to walk 10 minutes away from where we checked in. The toilets didn't flush properly.

Liked: welp.

Disliked: quite simply the grimiest place i've ever stayed in. me and 3 friends shared a 4 bedroom "room" for 10 euro a night. you truly get what you pay for. please reconsider before giving this place any of your money. honestly, an embarrassment to people who love life everywhere.

Liked: The location was very good.

Disliked: I didn't like the people that worked there, I thought they were a bit rude. The crazy looking man at the front desk was nice, but he was not very nice until we met him. When we were trying to get into the hostel, he greeted us with "Dime. What do you want?" The bathrooms were dirty and there were no lockers to keep our things in. Yes, we could lock the room, but then 7 other people have keys to the hostel and therefore could get to my stuff if they wanted to. I had to leave my backpack at the house of a friend.

Liked: Great location near Prado Museum

Disliked: You have to walk several blocks to get from the check in office to the actual hostel rooms. I have never experienced a place that was separate like that.

Liked: Great location. We booked a double room with a shared bathroom and were upgraded to a room (with a queen bed and a bunk bed) and a private bathroom, for the same price. Room was small, but had a lot of character. We enjoyed our stayed at this hostel.--after checking in we had to walk a couple of streets to a different building (as other people said, these people manage many hostels, some might be good, some might not. So it is definitely all about luck.

Disliked: We could not check in or leave our luggage when we arrived to Madrid. Also, because of the central location, the streets outside are rather noisy... but I guess that is part of the experience.

Liked: The place is well located.It's a safe place.And you can come and go where you like.For the price I had my own shower.There are a lot of places to eat nearby.

Disliked: The vending machine was empty but it was still connected for 1 or 2 days.There is no fan.I book 1 double bed but there was 2 single beds too.These beds were not necessary, there were some unnecessary furnitures too.

Disliked: The owner is strenge He wanted to make us pay for a night I did not spend in the hostel He wanted to make us pay for the linen He asked us to call where arrived in Madrid, to check he had availability, even thought I had booked the room!

Disliked: the rooms were extremely small and there were no electrical outlets.

Liked: goood facilities, good bed, clean, very good location.

Disliked: that you can't leave your bags while they clean the room they are going to give to you and that they only give you your room after 2 pm, but it actually is around 3 pm.

Liked: It`s Horrible! I booked for 3 rooms (9 persons), we check-in and he said that we have to stay in a room with 8 beds (we were 9) because we check-in late (at 17h00), "the 9th person is for free", he said! There was no Fans, no ventilation, there was no space between the beds! One room with 8 beds (9 persons)! When we complanit, he said "it is the rock-in-rio weekend, if you want, i return to you the money and go to another hostel, bue everything is full." We notice that he did the same with others guests! He only wants money!Pros: Location, cheap.Cons: HORRIBLE STAFF! not very clean, no ventilation in room, WC too small.SHOULD BE YOUR LAST OPTION!

Liked: We got to the hostel at 13:20, they told us that at 13:00 they had already given away our reservation to someone else. We had booked a private double for a romantic weekend in Madrid. Instead we ended up sharing a room with three other people. Great location. The owner is quite a character, in a good way. But the reservation "expiration" was ridiculous. There are other hostels with just as good of a location.
