Liked: very cheap and just a short walk away from Sol and all the main sights

Disliked: no wifi and not a place to meet people at all

Liked: The price is incredibly low considered its located in the middle of city centre and the main street.

Disliked: It is very difficult to find the hostel, I will advice everyone who will be staying in this hostel to ring up the person in charged ( dont worry, he is an extremely helpful person). A little bit noisy as you can listen clearly even a slightest movement from neighbor.

Disliked: The sink was held up by duck tape the shower had fungus and the toliet you had to pull a string to flush it because the actual flusher was broken

Liked: The location is unbeatable, and it is quiet (7th floor, good double-glazing)

Disliked: The bathrooms are tiny, and the showers are miniscule: I am 5'4", small build and I just fitted - my 6'2" average build husband really struggled. NB. They were starting to renovate the rooms the day we left so maybe...

Liked: it was cheap and located in the centre ( near paseo de prado) of Madrid.

Disliked: Other hostel than we booked ( in other street), no private bathroom, although we booked it, dirty bathroom and little rooms without windows,;the instructions on the reservation to make the check in were confusing and we had to run 3 times between two hostels until we found someone who talked with us and let us check-in. Next to our room slept a woman, who was responsible to clean the bathroom, and this woman shouted 2 nights at us and punched against the wall, so we had to be extremly quiet at 12 o 1 in the night.

Liked: The location is walking distance to Sol

Disliked: the toilet lights were malfunctioning, there is 2 lift but we could only use 1 of it to get to the 6th floor and the check in and hostel is at 2 different location

Liked: It was really close to everything. El Sol is 10 minutes away on foot, el Museo del Prado is almost right across the street, Parque del Retiro is right beyond el Prado, the farthest was Palacio Real which was about a 25 minute walk. However, walking through the streets of Madrid is a fun and eye-opening experience. Also, this property is extremely close (5 minute walk) to Plaza del Cibele which is where the airport expresses stop: 2 euro for a 45 minute ride.

Disliked: It was run down. The washroom had one incandescent light for two "washroom unites" which included a sink, a toilet, and a shower. The light was very dim and made the room extremely eerie.

Liked: The staff could not have been more helpful, we had to walk from one location to a different hostel but we were escorted there. We were given advice on buses to the airport and how to avoid pickpockets. It is a basic hostel for a basic price but the location is great, we´d only booked for one night but stayed for three. if all you want is a bed then this is the place to go. I will definately go back there again.

Disliked: the room was fairly small but sufficient.

Liked: it was great location, clean and quiet tho room was very small, man in charge was very nice but as we were directed to another hostel there was no one to ask directions or questions and as it was our 1st visit we would have liked some advice but we stayed 5 days instead of 2 so we did enjoy our trip once we got used to our surroundings

Disliked: rooms were too small, especially ensuite and no atmosphere and no-one on hand to ask advicealso t.v. wasnt working, a lounge would be beneficial

Disliked: THIS WAS PROBABLY THE WORST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED! THE ROOM WAS DARK, LIGHT BULBS WERE BROKEN, ONLY ONE WORKING. ROOM WAS WITHOUT ELECTRIC PLUG, AND I HAD TO USE THE PLUG IN THE BATHROOM TO CHARGE MY PHONE AND CAMERA! THE OWNER EVEN ASKED ME TO MOP THE FLOOR IN THE BATHROOM AFTER I BATHED! HOW RIDICULOUS WAS THAT!!?? SPEAKING OF BATHROOM, THE SHOWER WAS HORRIBLE AS THE WATER TEMPERATURE GETS COLDER WHEN I BATH. THIS IS NOT FUN ESPECIALLY IN WINTER! LOCATION WAS BAD. FELT UNSAFE. AND I WILL NEVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN, AND NOT IN A MILLION YEARS I WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Liked: The room was very clean, very comfortable. The staff were very warm - the guy with the bushy beard might be the loveliest person I've ever paid for accomodation, one of the loveliest people I've ever met. The location is fantastic, not just for sightseeing but for the plethora of great bars, cafes, restaurants etc. nearby.

Disliked: I had no qualms whatsoever with Sudamericana Hostal.
