Liked: Great location right near the Puerta del Sol and near the Plaza Mayor and around the corner from the Sol metro stop. It also had air conditioning which was key since Madrid was so hot!

Liked: I found it great. It was like staying in a hotel. We had our private room and didn't have a wish to meet and chat with other people. We had our own peace. But if we would want other people around we could easily join them at the joint areas of the hostel. It is useful for all tastes.

Liked: Fantastic location, very clean, new and fresh. Great having air-conditioning and an automatic shutter on the window to block out noise from the street. Lots of Spannish character with all the modern conveniences

Liked: This hostal was really like a budget hotel. Very good location. I think that the staff could have been more friendly and they could have had more info about the city.e.g. pamphlets etc

Liked: The hostels and room look really good. However, I was not informed of the construction of the metro from Atocha station to Sol and I had to take a cab after I realised that I was never going to reach Sol. Also, there is no pantry at the hostel and staff is not the most helpful and friendliest I've met. These are my only complaints. Otherwise, I would recommend the place as it is within walking distance to main attractions.

Liked: Marlasca is situated in an absolute hot spot of Madrid. You walk out the door and you're right in the heart of vivid area with fun bars, good tapas and trendy but cheap restaurants. The atmosphere is vibrant but relax, no pressure, lot's to see... Loved it!Marlasca itself has just had a make-over (or so it seemed to me) and the room I had (it was a private with bathroom) was clean, looked like a modern ikea-catalogue (but in a good way), and had everything a low-priced room has to have. No complaints whatsoever. No noise from the streets (or no disturbing noise), 24h service, ... If I go back to Madrid, I go back to Marlasca. (Unless I'm rich by then, off course..:)
