Liked: The location is perfect! Just 15 minutes walk max to all the most toursity places. Plus, the street is lined with several restaurants and is close to a lot of bars. Also, free wifi!

Disliked: The hostel itself was not attractive. It was old and there is no elevator, which got annoying since I was on he fourth floor. One of the bathrooms constantly smelled like vomit, even after housekeeping cleaned it. The water was also not very hot, the rooms were lack luster and dim, and the entire place is very old. In need of some updating.

Liked: It has a perfect location in the center of Madrid and it's value for money.

Disliked: The rooms don't have a safe and the doors are pretty easy to open, whether you have a key or not. Dislike.

Liked: Great rooms, amazing location close to everything, very clean, rooms cleaned for you everyday.

Disliked: You had to pay to use the locker in the room.

Liked: It's in the center of Madrid

Disliked: First, the staff was really unfriendly, the man who welcomed us didn't explain a thing about the hostal, then a guy keep the hostel at night is really unfriendly. We had some trouble with the room, they didn't arrange a thing. We left after only 2 nights (we should have stay 7 nights!!). The service was really bad, and the place so noisy that we couldn't slept. I wouldn't recommand this place to anyone.

Liked: Clean, good location, staff tried to be helpful with limited english. Person on reception 24hrs.

Disliked: Beds were hard and only one bathroom/ toilet to share between 2 levels.

Disliked: Bad place to stay.. the rooms were old.. the doors looked like they were going to fall off.. the bathrooms were scary.. not worth the money you pay.. some of the staff was nice.. not all of it..

Liked: Location is perfect, very close to metro stations Sol and Sevilla. The hostel is situated in the refurbished old building; some of the rooms have a balcony overlooking calle principe! Shared bathrooms are clean and every room has a small washbasin and a safe. Book in advance!! Many bars and restaurants in the zone!

Liked: Well located.

Disliked: Lots of stairs. Only the hallways are renovated, so the rooms are old. The bathrooms in the hall were out of toilet paper several times during my stay.

Liked: The location was perfect.

Disliked: SO NOISY!!! The first room we got was terrible - tiny, no air con, no safe, filthy mirror, window was facing another building which was a kitchen, fully operational at 8am and with generators outside which were so loud. When I mean we were facing it, we were about 1 metre away. No air draft, horrible. Asked for a different room, and got a lovely one with a balcony facing the street, clean, with a safe. Street was obviously extremely loud but there was double glazed windows so OK if not too hot at night - still no air con.

Liked: Excellent location in the middle of Madrid, convenient neighborhood bars & shops. Our room was a decent size, and the in-room sink was a nice touch.

Disliked: Rather old and faded -- given the nice location and building, so much more could be done with the rooms. Our room had a sinking floorboard, and the door couldn't be closed w/out slamming. Streets are noisy at night, though we liked the atmosphere. Bathrooms on the 4th floor were old and in a dubious state of cleanliness, but the 3rd floor ones were much nicer.

Liked: Amazing location, probably as good as it´s possible to be, halfway between El Museo del Prado and la Plaza del Sol. Secure rooms with an optional locker inside (1 euro) which we never used, but never had any problems. Extremely clean.

Disliked: Not particularly social, and no real common areas.
