Liked: The check-in time was too late. I wish it was at around 12 so we can at least go around Madrid in the afternoon - we had to wait until 2 pm just to settle in. Other than that, I really enjoyed staying there: rooms not very dark. No palace, but otherwise very correct for the price. Very near to the center.

Disliked: Check-in time at 2 pm.

Liked: It was exactly what I expected for the price. Very average - nothing impressive but nothing to complain about either. The staff is rarely around but are helpful enough when they are. Bathrooms could be improved, but they were OK. The most important thing though - the location is amazing!! Minutes away from the center and close to everywhere. Overall a pleasant weekend stay. =)

Liked: You have to pay cash so keep that in mind. Simple rooms, friendly staff, but no breakfast included. It's not expensive at all and I would recommend staying here.

Disliked: There were a lot of rules, and the staff was very strict.

Liked: The facilities are quite nice and cheap. The dorms feel a bit institutional though, and are a little worn at this point. The staff were very friendly and always working it seemed.

Liked: Lovely hostel and i will def tell me mates about it here, very layed back atmosphere and nice building near plaza de Espana.

Liked: Nice hostel, a walkable distance from the city centre and esy to get to from the airport. reception is open 24 hours which is good.

Liked: Good value for a short stay, mainly for the good location, at reasonable walking distance from every main spots in Madrid. Bit overcrowded with more or less all the disadvantages and advantages of a big city budget accommodation.

Disliked: Nothing - the hostel was exactly as I expected it to be.

Liked: Very nice people, always available if any questions occur or if you want to have some good advices for day and night. Rooms are clean, wi-fi is fast, location is perfect, people are cool and it surely is always worth a visit.

Liked: The hostel is very well located. It is close to a metro station - all of Madrid in minutes. The neighbourhood has a lively nightlife, which includes places to eat, to drink and to dance. Its nice the way its organized. Very near the center with lively streets with bars, restaurants and such.

Disliked: cleaning time from 11 a.m.

Liked: Not much. The location is good but there are so many other hostels in the area that this one isnt worth it.

Disliked: Youre not allowed to drink, theres no communal area to meet people, not enough bathrooms, they close the kitchen so you cant make yourself food if you get in late, they kick you out for 3 hours in the day, the heating is terrible and one of the nights i stayed there there was no heat OR hot water. Do yourself a favor and stay at one centro, its closer to everything, thats where I checked into after this horrible experience.

Liked: The hostel was the cheapest at this time of year and some the other travellers were nice. Although you need to look at the small print on the Hostel Bookers advert as they only accept people with a student card and if you check in after 12pm you will be charged an extra 10 Euros per person. (Although there is night member of staff so I am not sure what the extra charge is for).

Disliked: The hostel is made up of two converted small appartments and split on two levels. There are 26 beds downstairs in three rooms, where we stayed, and a similar amount downstairs. There is no common rooms but some chairs in the hallways outside the rooms so noise is a problem and so is somewhere to socialise. The downstairs kitchen is hardly equiped and the cooker has not worked for a very long time by the age of the poster telling you it does not work. The knobs on the hob are all broken so it's very difficult to turn them on and when you do only two of the rings work. There are about 5 plates, no utensils, no kettle and no toaster. There are two showers for 26 people so you have to queue in the morning or get up very early. The worst thing about the hostel was that at 11am everyone has to leave the property until 2pm for cleaning, so if you have a late night, be warned they will wake you up and tell you to get out. There is a no alcohol rule due to "security" reasons and you will lose your 10 Euro deposit if you are caught with any.

Liked: price is cheap, located in Gran via, very central. metro station cross the road

Disliked: i read review before book it and i find pretty much what i expect. there is the receprion at 3th floor and i spend the night on the 1th floor.there are 2 room there, one for 12 people and one for 6 people. i book for 12 people room but was full so they put me on the 6 people room, no bad! in there is not possible to close the window completely so some cold air come thrue (true? throu?)...get inside! but i get use quick and was not too cold. hot water had some problem and few guest include me took icy shower. kitchen miss many stuff, if you like to cook during your stay this is not the most comfortable place. also handle to turn on cooker are miss. no chance to wash cloth or use internet if you don't have a PC. no common room at all. receptionist don't speak spanish. i think this is a fault, in Spain!

Liked: I had a great time there. Great location, family vibe atmosphere. There were some problems with the hot water but the receptionist did her best to fix it. Thanks!:)

Disliked: There were some rude travelers who would never stop complaining about everything. Man, less bitterness please!

Liked: nothing,

Disliked: The location is good, but its next to the busiest intersection in Madrid and the hostel rooms have no sound proofing. day and night its all noise. next, there is no common area so its very hard to socialise with your fellow travellers. there was two small bathrooms been shared between 24 people, and this is a problem when between the hours of 11 and 2 your not allowed in the hostel. that means from 9 to 11 its near impossible to get a bathroom. next the hot water system did not work really for the 4 nights i stayed, and lastley my room had no door, all the dorm had no locks, and no lockers. your only option was a safe up staris and you had to pay to use it. so honestly spend the extra 2 or 3 euros and just dont stay here.

Liked: I liked absolutely nothing about this property. It is not worth it to save your money and stay here. Pay 2 more euro/night and stay at Hostel 1 down the street...MUCH better!

Disliked: There was a 3 hour period during each day where they kicked you out of the hostel so they could "clean". They required each, individual person to pay 10 euro for a key deposit and spend your entire stay in the hostel trying to find a reason to keep your deposit. You are not allowed to drink alcohol. There are 2 bathrooms for nearly 30 people. The beds were falling apart and noisy. The street was noisy and the girl at the reception was AWFUL. The hot water/heat quit working 3 or 4 different times during our 2 day stay.
