Heather Ann O'NeillThis is an EXCELLENT hostel! I strongly suggest going down the street to Calle de la Cabeza. Just down from Mad Hostel there is a little pizzeria. The pizza is AMAZING and a bottle of wine is cheap. It was my favourite meal while in Madrid. The hostel is also very close to Del Sol. Great staff, awesome lobby to hang out in, and hot showers!!!! ENJOY!!!!! |

Gonçalo FerreiraLocation is perfect! Its located in the heart of Madrid, near the Atocha Station and Madrid night hotspots! I loved the "moorish" arquitecture of the hostel. It is a perfect spot to meet new and nice people. I wish i had a longer stay in Hostel Cats! |

Sarah MorseThe hostel building is an old palace with a fantastic interior courtyard, beautiful tiles, stained glass. Many people talk about the great bar in the basement, but really the interior courtyard is the best place to hang out, no smoking, quiet and so beautiful. |

Customer reviewCat's Hostel is a good, safe, and clean hostel and its location is perfect, only 10 min. walk from the Plaza Mayor, The Reina Sofia museum and the eat streets in the neighbourhood La Latina. In October was teh hostel bar not so excited as we expected, but probably it's much better in the summer. The showers were warm en clean. Recommended! |

victoria wells*BEWARE* Do not be fooled by the pretty pictures, the staff at this hostel are DISHONEST and rude and the accommodation is UNSANITARY. I was conned out of my key deposit despite not being told by anyone upon what grounds it would be denied - effectively having to pay double board for really crummy accommodation. The beds are rock hard and plastic-lined. The 'free' breakfast would be turned down by a homeless person and the staff are rude, avasive and the manager is conveniently NEVER around. I would NOT recommend staying here under any circumstances. There are a number of far better, cheaper, friendlier places to stay within walking distance from this hovel. |

Customer reviewThis hostel seems to be geared more towards the people who want to go out and enjoy the night life--it was a little bit loud at night. The breakfast was pretty meager, but the bar was quite nice. |

Jessica AndradeEverything is great but the cleanliness but that has to do a lot indivudually not so much the hostel... people need to just clean after themselves lol This hostel is for people that dont care about smelling like smoke or having people walk in and out of the room... we didnt :) |

Brett HuttThis Hostel was very nice and really close to Madrids touristy hotspots. The staff were helpful when we needed advice or services and unlike many places in Madrid they didn't want to con you out any money they could. Even though our visit was just out of the season we did meet some lovely people in the bar and the beer was very good value compared to the rest of Madrid!!!! Would definitely stay again on another trip to Madrid. :) |

Customer reviewStaff were really unhelpful - to the point of downright rudeness. The atmosphere felt all wrong - I never felt really comfortable here, despite meeting some lovely people. The showers are push button, and all spray hot water for differing amounts of time. No keys/swipe cards, but a bracelet swiper, which is notoriously unreliable, as is the directions on how to open the room doors. It all depends on the weather/mood of the door as to whether it opens! Not expensive, which is bonus in a capital city, but not an overly enjoyable place to spend your time in Madrid. |

FADY WAHBAGreat location, walking distance to pretty much everything... the bar was a bit cheesy (as most hostel bars are) but nevertheless a good place to meet loads of cool people. the only thing that pissed me off is that they kept my 10 Euro key deposit because i checked out 20 mins late (11:20 instead of 11:00). Not many other hostels enforce it especially if its only that short of a time over, but i guess rules are rules... either way, its a good hostel. |

Daniel KashimaCat's Hostel was a great place. Most tourist-attractions are within walking distance from the place--I bought a 5-day metro pass but only needed to use it twice. Tapas tours and pub crawls also begin from this hostel. The interior is set up to be able to meet people; there is a main commons area where people read/hang out as well as a cafe-esque room with electrical ports. The bar downstairs has a nice atmosphere and is fairly lively every night. My only complaint is the lack of electrical outlets in the rooms and in the commons area. To charge electronic devices, you have to go down to the cafe. |
