Liked: breakfast, great fresh croissants REALLY convenient location for walking places staff recommended good places to eat centre atrium is beautiful, almost moroccan style, lovely building

Disliked: the keys are a bit hard to use ... they're not actual keys but a sensor type thing that unlocks the door, but they are pretty tricky

Liked: The building is beautiful. The stained glass roof is very nice.

Disliked: The bar closes just after 1:00. Then you are not allowed to enjoy yourself anymore. They wouldn't sell us drinks, let us bring drinks in or show us where we could get a drink. Yes we asked... he tossed a map at us and essentially said good luck but without the luck part. They start cleaning very early and are VERY loud as they do so. The showers have a button that you must push literally every 5sec.'s with no temperature control. The bathroom stalls are so tight I couldn't sit normal on the toilet. Only two out of the 10 staff members smiled or were at all helpful. Any time any one closes a door in any of the 24+ rooms you hear it. They close the patio at 12:00 and the bar at 1:00 so after 1:00 you "shouldn't be here".. At breakfast you wait several minutes for the staff to finish personal conversations before they acknowledge another human presence. If you say a Spanish word improperly you are scoffed at rather than corrected. I was trying to learn... The beds are tiny, a large cat couldn't sit up straight while on the bottom bunk let alone a small person. The rooms are packed very tight, with no ventilation.. The social environment is awkward and most people lived with headphones on or at there computer constantly. Probably because of the vibe the staff gave off. Like they didn't want us here and for some reason the guests are treated as nuisances.. Worst hostel I've stayed at in Europe.. Not sure how they have such a good rating, this is the first bad review I've ever given to a hostel.. As you can see from my other reviews..

Liked: The Bar inside was pretty tight, that and it was super close to all the action.

Disliked: Wasn't too keen on my fellow dorm-mates carousing until 1:30 AM, lights on, and at full volume. I guess there's no 'Lights Out' hour. I don't know if that's your standard Hostal experience, but it made the nights rough.

Liked: Very clean, very secure, millions of bathrooms/showers, and an awesome bar with pub crawls every night! Plus at 13 euros, its the cheapest hostel in Madrid, and in a great location! I can't say enough about how I was blown away by this hostel.

Disliked: No complaints

Liked: la ubicacion es lo mejro que tiene el hostel

Disliked: no tiene cocina, el wifi es muy lento, el desayuno es una miseria (un cafe, una croissant y un jugo) nada mas... no podes ni repetir nada!!!! Las ahbitaciones ventilan a un paito interno cerrado... nada tiene ventilacion

Liked: the hostel is very different from others ive been.... the design is great! also the magnet keys are really innovative and secure!

Disliked: the bathrooms are very cramped and so are the rooms!

Liked: Very good central location, breakfast included, safe environment, left baggage in office after checkout. Full of travelers, but plenty of showers and toilets.

Disliked: i'm allergic to bed bugs, dust mites, etc. so... found a bed bug... luckily before that one bit me...

Liked: The location is perfect - very close to Plaza Mayor y Prado. The hostel itself is a former palace - el patio en the middle is charming!

Disliked: I don´t know how it´s usually happens, but it was not very quiet! All the rooms were turned to the patio and people were talking up to 1 o´clock at night and it was really difficult to travel when I didn´t have a good sleep. The neighbours returned at 3-5 o´clock in the morning and were very loud as well, every day!

Liked: It was very clean, very organized and very well localized. It was close of every good places of Madrid. Its easy to get from the airport too, very close of one metro station. The staff was very friendly and provided good informations about how to go to some places. I recommend, it was a money well payed.

Disliked: Leonardo left no negative feedback.

Liked: I liked a lot the disco inside the hostel, it has a good atmosphere. The security it´s really good and modern, it´s an eletronic devide that you recive and that it´s necessary to enter in the hostel, in your room and to open your locker.The bathroom it´s really clean and the water is hotoh!the location it´s perfect!!can´t be better!

Disliked: I only dislike to things: - the breakfest don´t be all you can it buffet, but the breakfest is verry good, the crosaints it´s tasty. - the shower be to press the botton, so you have to press all the time to take a shower. But the shoer is verry hot, so it´s ok. But this 2 things had been so little comparing to the rest of the hostel, I really really like the hostel and i really recomend it to everyone that are going to Madrid.

Liked: the location is awesome! there are lots of bars nearby so there are many options for meals. casa patas (for watching flamenco show) is only 2 doors away. the hostel also organises tapas tours and pub crawls.

Disliked: the breakfast was a little too minimal - just a crossaint, hot drink and orange juice, without cereals nor toasted bread.

Liked: Location. Located conveniently near a metro station. The design of the place is not bad. All rooms face out to the common lounge and it is cooly decorated, but the sofas need some replacing.

Disliked: When we first arrived at the hostel, we were told that we couldn't check in because the relevant staff hadn't arrived and had to wait in the lobby for quite a long time despite being tired from traveling. Had to stand at the counter and waited a long time while one staff taught another how to use the booking system, and when she finally attended to us, the check in was a laboriously long process and it was very very frustrating. When we got to our room, it was also disappointing. It was small and bare, the pillow was too flat, and comforter not warm. No shelf or surface available to place belongings as well, had to put stuff on the floor. The toilets were also not the most appealing - toilets couldn't flush toilet paper properly and the shower had no ledge on which to place toiletries. Not sure why they placed shelves outside the cubicles, making you have to walk out in your towel to get your clothes. Plus the shower was operated by pressing a button, so you have to keep pressing it to get water. Additionally, breakfast was sad - consisting of a choice of donut, cereal or croissant and 1 orange juice and 1 hot chocolate/coffee/tea. No refils. Frankly one of the most disappointing places stayed at. And not that cheap either. Really not very recommended unless you have no choice.

Liked: Hostel is located close to metro station and also neat the city center. I liked the old patio decoration.

Disliked: 2 things: In the room was only one elektric socket, Wifi was available only in the common space and not in the rooms.

Disliked: the staff was horrible. Very unhelpful and unwilling to help with anything. If there was a different staff, I would recommend this hostel much more.

Liked: A lot of fun.. loved the pubcrawls.

Disliked: but one staff member was really rude.. the roof caved in in our room and she really didn't care.

Liked: This hostel is build in a old complex and because of that the atmosphere is cozy.

Disliked: The dorms are a bit small. and the bunk beds are almost next to eachother.

Liked: the commonroom was goodthe matrass was comfortable

Disliked: - it was allowed to smoke in the room where the computers are - the beds weren't stable so it makes a lot of noise when you turn around - the breakfast was very small - the room wasn't well ventilated - the room wasn't safe for fires, i had no idea how to get out in case of a fire and i didn't see smoke detectors or material to stop the fire
