Liked: the bathrooms were big, but very far away from the bedrooms.

Disliked: No kitchen, no space in the rooms, bathrooms far away from the bedrooms, doors difficult to open.

Liked: The hostal was clean and the courtyard is beautiful. It is is a great location and we walked to all the sights including the Prado, Plaza Mayor, etc.

Disliked: The staff was incredibly unhelpful. I was shocked that these people actually work for a hostel, when their job is to assist travelers while the are away. Every time I asked anyone at the front desk for anything, they were annoyed and almost always responded with "I don´t know". I have never stayed at a hostel where the staff seemingly hated their jobs so much. I would recommend this hostel because of the hostel itself, but the people who work there really make me never want to come back. Everyone needs to take a ¨how to work with people¨class before they are allowed to come to work.

Liked: safe, secure and great facilities like prepaid card phones, great location, English speaking staff.

Disliked: could have had more computers. no alcohol was allowed to be brought into the property!

Liked: Not sure why this is Lonely Planets pick for budget accommodation in Madrid. Yes its a good location, clean, has a bar and the tiled terrace is beautiful, but the rooms and bathrooms and very average and it doesnt offer kitchen facilities or printing. The english speaking staff were also very unhelpful

Disliked: Location, bar and thatś about it.

Liked: The bar was a ood place to meet people, and prices were ery good.

Disliked: The hotel was flithy, new clean bedding was quite often not provided for new stayers and the toilets and showers were apalling.

Liked: This hostel is ideal fro young kids looking to have a fun time in the city. The location is abosultely perfect: a five minute walk (if that) from Plaza del Sol and lots of fun activities offered by teh staff--bar nights, walking tours. there´s even a bar downstairs that's a great way to meet some new friends for tapas crawls or bar hopping if you came alone (like I did).

Disliked: I stayed in a four person room with ONLY ONE OUTLET which was a bit of a hassle at times, but I´m starting to learn taht this is the case everywhere is Spain. Not really anything I can fault Cat´s for.

Liked: The interior of the hostel is amazing, it is nice to spend some time in hostel. In the evening you may have fun downstairs where it's easy to meet people and chat.I liked the system of keys and lockers, your belongings are safe!

Disliked: Reception doesn't do check-in during the shifting. I arrived after check-in time but 5 minutes before the shifting and stuff already refused to check me in asking to wait for half an hour. But actually it took more than 1 hour. Adding that i was very tired after joney to Madrid I felt pretty angry. Maybe this is a really good place to meet people, but don't expect sleep well especially during weekends. People were tend to continue party also at rooms, doesn't matter that alot of people are already sleeping. But this is not a fault of the hostel, this is just about people who are coming... People, be polite! you have a very good bar downstairs for parties! ;)

Liked: Nice building, except for leaky roof, good location.

Disliked: Noise permeated throughout the building, making it more difficult to sleep at night. Only one plug scoket in room.

Liked: It has a pretty homey feeling. The building itself is old and impressive. All the common areas are good places to hang out.

Disliked: It´s falling apart. There were leaks and the floor is unstable in some places.
