Liked: Amazing location... and easy to find. And really quiet. Staff were really friendly, spoke very good english. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment.

Disliked: Could not fault this place...

Liked: real friendly guy at the desk. price was great for being 2 blocks from plaza mayor and puerta del sol.

Disliked: could be more appealing aesthically.

Liked: The hostel is perfectly located near to the Sol metro station and to all the shops. You can buy almost anything outside the hostel ranging from souvenir to food. The city tour bus is just few steps away from the hotel. What a bargain!!!

Disliked: Nothing in particular.

Liked: The front desk was helpful and spoke great english. On our second time in, we were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment for no extra charge. The location is great, right off the SOL metro stop and walking distance to tons. It felt very safe with a locked door to the front of the building, one to the hostel front entrance and one to your room. (At the apartment there was a door that led to a small entryway and then another door to the apartment itself). There is also a pay-for safe (1 euro) in each room which was nice.

Disliked: The private hostel room we had was a little noisy (toilets flushing, showers, etc)

Liked: The location is perfect and the staff is very nice and helpfull. The shower is very good and the room has a hairdryer. The room has a locker fot just 1 euro!! There is a 24 hour shop next to the hostal.

Disliked: Because the hostal is really in the center, it's hard to get into sleep because of al the noice.. Get some good earplugs and you will survive because of the perfect location it is worth it!

Liked: Nice location, in the city center with several shops, restaurants an bars near it. The metro station is also very close to it.

Liked: Perfect location, 1 minute walking from Puerto del Sol

Liked: It's clean and it has great location. 24 hours open supermarket right next door.

Disliked: guy at the reception seemed really suspicious and obsessed with not inviting guests over (signs all over the place) - I had my friend with me while checking in and she barely could come to see the room. The room is small and walls were really thin so I heard when somebody was flushing. The bathroom is so tiny that I touched the wall with my knees while on the toilet. Not worth 48 euros.

Liked: Very central location. Very clean and tidy, especially for the room rates. Best part is the ever helpful staff at the hostal. That was the highlight of the stay.

Disliked: Although the location is very central, it can be a bit noisy. Thin walls, so was easily awaken by the other people staying at the hostal after a good night out.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, and the location is amazing, honestly don't think it could be better, right by Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor.

Disliked: I didn't realise there was free WiFi. This could be advertised a bit better in the hostel.

Liked: Got a double suite on this hostel to last easter holiday and it really was very fine. The room was very clean, towels were changed when requested, linen was replaced every day, the bathroom was nice. A small TV and a good bed also pleased me. Nice staff on the hostel, and 24h up. The location is very very central (excellent in my opinion) and the streets are very noisy around, but the bedroom also has a good acoustic isolation. I would definitely stay on this hostel again when going to Madrid.

Disliked: Nothing. Maybe the building elevator is a bit old and scary (don't try to operate it if you are drunk), but this is not a real problem. Just kidding.

Liked: We asked for a superior double ensuite, and when we got there we were upgraded to an apartment. For just the two of us, it was fanstastic.

Disliked: Nothing, it was great.

Liked: We were upgraded to an apartment at no extra cost upon arrival. The apartment was spacious and staff spoke English and were very helpful with all our questions. Location was perfect - directly between Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Walking distance to most of the city's attractions and only a 2 minute walk to the Metro - made it very easy to get around. Also, despite it's great central location, it was relatively quiet at night, which is what we were looking for.

Disliked: Our room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke which seemed to come through the kitchen vent. We ended up closing the kitchen door and this helped.
