Liked: Se querem ficar perto de tudo aconselho vivamente, o staff entende na perfeiçao o portugues o que é muito bom, levamos portateís e nao tivemos qualquer tipo de problema. Todos os dias mudam as toalhas de rosto e de banho, e quando se entra no hostel sente-se o cheiro a limpeza. APROVADISSIMO

Liked: very clean and very easy to find, just off the Gran Via which is the main shopping street in madrid. the rooms were very airy, with high ceilings.

Disliked: there is some noise at night, as the corridor floor creaks whenever anyone walks past!

Liked: Everything! It's on a very main street(Gran Via), and it's very close to two different metro stations (Calao and Gran Via), as well as very close to Puerta del Sol. The hospitality is great, the check in was very quick and friendly, the room was clean and tidy, it was simply good and worth the money. They even helped us with our lost luggage by speaking with the flight company. Gustavo is the best!

Liked: Nice hostel, at gran vía, very central. The double room as a private bath-room. Metro Callao is very near. Great value for the room. second time we've been there. there's night-girls ;-) during the day also, at this street but it's a safe area we think.

Liked: We had a quiet room away from the street so were able to rest well. The hostel staff were very friendly and helpful, even allowing us to leave our cases (and there were a few) in the reception after we had checked out, and also allowing us to return much later to use their internet to find somewhere to live! Very nice people.

Disliked: The room was fairly small and basic.

Liked: The location is very central, you are off Gran Via and close to virtually everything you need. Staff are friendly, although not all speak English (helps that I speak enough Spanish)

Disliked: A few stairs before you get to the lift, so do be careful if you have a lot of luggage.

Liked: Hostal San Martin is probably one of the best hostels in Madrid if you are visiting the city and just need a place to sleep at night. The rooms are very private, most with just two beds and include: mini-kitchen, shower and sink. Also very ideal for small families due to the privacy, and ability to leave your belongings in your room without worrying about them being stolen. The staff are all very kind and helpful and it is located in a VERY central location. Right off of Gran Via, about a 1-2 minute walk from Puerta del Sol. There are many bars and clubs nearby, as well as grocery stores, restaurants and many different stores. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone! The price is even better! Only 20 euro a night!
