Liked: Very friendly people, great location, very hygienic. This was my first time in a hostel, and I was very apprehensive about it, but when I entered the hostel, all of it was dispelled, and I had a great time. You meet some amazing people from all over the world, and La Posada particularly is very well known for it.

Disliked: Vikas left no negative feedback.

Disliked: Limited hot water supply and when friend complained that she'd not had a hot shower for 2 days, staff simply told her to use bathrooms on another floor

Liked: Location. I could walk everywhere.

Disliked: SHOWERS WERE COLD! For the first 2 nights I had icy cold showers and I'm not exaggerating. It wasn't ´not warm enough´but no hot water at all! I asked the staff about it and all they can say to me was 'maybe there are lots of people taking showers at the time in the building so there wasn't enough hot water. Try showering in a less busy time.' I don't understand. If your property accommodates X amount of people. Shouldn't you (at least) have the hot water for X?!!!!! Staff were OK... not very helpful. I asked for restaurant/shopping recommendations and all they bothered to 'recommend' was the touristy areas, which are, of course, expensive and not worth the money. Not the cleanest. Very noisy. Stay here if you wanna party, but not for a good night sleep.

Disliked: the bathrooms we disgusting. showers had cracks and holes in the doors. i paid for an 8 bed dorm and was given a 10 bed dorm. receptionist was very rude.

Liked: Good location, plenty of food for breakfast, several computers available and everything went smoothly. Paid for an 8-bed dorm and ended up alone in a 2-bed room!

Disliked: More showers and toilets would help. Viruses on the computers.

Liked: the place is okay. yes there's a locker. the door was a bit hard to open even if you use the wrist electronic key. but that's manageable. they have a sufficient supply of soap and i guess the 3 showers and toilet available were okay too, since not all people take a bath at the same time. what i didn't like though, is for me who brings my own toiletries, you couldn't really put it anywhere inside the shower (no place to hang it into). but apart from that, it was okay.convenient way to meet people. ohhh and the cubicle for the toilet rely only on the light outside, so it was pretty dark if you close the door.it was easy to locate if you go out of the metro at the right exit. otherwise, you'd have to walk a certain distant and try to look for that tiny sign of the street. but nevertheless, madrid is a bit small and you could walk just about from here to there and everywhere.

Liked: Rooms were very big giving us lots of room to move around which was nice. Breakfast in the morning a plus. The looks for the doors/safe are a really good idea.

Liked: It' very well organised, the staff are very professional - I've stayed at Cats a few times and they can be a bit petty. The breakfast is much better as well. Very basic though - no furniture at all in the rooms except lockers & beds.

Disliked: Everyone seems to be very young, which is OK if you're about 18, but much over 30 is a bit alienating. (The full name has 'Youth Hostel' in it). Very basic, spartan, but adequate and very good value for the money.

Disliked: The fact that the dorms are are not mixed male-female was a bit strange. Plus it is very much controlled, video vigilance, stricktly closing kitchen - this makes it safe at least...

Liked: The hostel was in a good location (really close to the Prado Museum). There were group outing options and something to do every night. There were 4 or 5 computers that were available to use. There wasn't internet in the rooms, but it was available in the lobby. The breakfast consisted of toast, jam, and cereal. Each person was given a wristband that acted as the key to the hostel, the room, as well as the locker. The hostel was very clean, but the cleaning ladies waking us up early to clean the room was a bit obnoxious.

Disliked: There was confusion between two of the workers at the hostel when we first arrived so our check-in took over half an hour. The internet didn't work in the rooms, which was also a bit frustrating since the lobby area was small and had only a few places to sit.
