Disliked: The signboard outside is not Hostal Bahia Madrid,so you need to locate it according to the shop number.

Liked: Good situation. Safe.

Disliked: We were very disappointed by this hostel. The woman attending was unpleasant and mostly unhelpful. The "superior" rooms were supposed to have a private bathroom, but there was no toilet, only a shower in a box. And we couldn't shower for a whole day because the water-heater was broken and the water was ice-cold (when we informed the woman about it, she took offense and didn't believe us...). The rooms were mostly clean and could have been pleasant otherwise, but it really wasn't worth the price.

Liked: it's extremely well located, good connection with the airport, close to metro, puerta del sol and all the busies places. It's quite clean and quiet.

Disliked: if you are looking for fun - don't bother - everything is forbidden. also there is no breakfast and there is no kitchen. besides "room with shower" means there is a shower box put in a normal room without any doors or anything, so don't look for anything special

Liked: The staff were very helpful. The showers were fantastic. It was good that there were 2 showers in the one bathroom so couples could have a shower at the same time.

Disliked: Lack of utensils in the kitchen, although the staff gave us some forks to eat our take away.

Liked: Fantastic location, everything is near. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and very cute as well as bathrooms (also, in one bathroom there are 2 showers so it's faster for couples). It's cool that they have a fridge and a coffee dispenser in a fairly large living room (where you can meet people if you are interested). All in all, a fantastic value for money.

Liked: only thing we liked was the location

Disliked: where to begin? the lady running the hostel was very adamant that guests were "very very quiet" even to the point of having signs up in each room and outside the abthroom saying for us to not wear high heels so as to not make noise, however she felt it was ok to speak loudly really early int emorning and late at night, waking us up and disturbing the entire hostel. we were made to feel awkward and as if we couldn't relax at all for fear of her chastising us. we had no window in our room and opened the door for some fresh air but were told to keep our door closed, also told not to keep the blankets on the floor, when only the corner of the blanket fell onto the floor. i felt as though i was in a boarding school and being told off by a teacher for every little thing! her general bad attitude made us feel unwelcome and her hypocritcal behaviour of wanting silence but speaking very loudly at all times, only made the situation worse.

Liked: The location is the best quality. They give us a key, so we have free access to the hostel, what is also very good. Very good value for money, but remember the price is cheap.

Disliked: The kitchen is the weakest point. They have a refrigerator, so you can buy your breakfast, but the table is very small (4 people) and there are no plates or tableware... There is just one computer for common use. The place is a little dark, our bedroom didn´t have a window and was very hot, so they put there two fans.

Liked: When we came the washing facility in the room whe should get was broke so we didn't get a double room but a twin. Next day we get a nicer room which was very friendly. Good ventilation on the ceiling and standing on the floor as well. Nice building where the hostel is located in.

Disliked: Internet wasn't strong enough to use in your room. Living room was full of family when we were there and also not very nice as well, but there was a weak internet acces to use. Little but to expensive for what you get when compared with others.

Liked: Absolutely nothing

Disliked: This property was the most horrible experience Ive had traveling all over Europe. Unfortunately, upon arrival, this hostel was nothing like the website advertised it to be and the host was horribly rude and obnoxious. The host would yell at new travelers upon their arrival, shout at guests for talking outside rooms in later night hours and constantly harass us. It was a terrible experience and I would never recommend this hostel. To add to the undesirable situation, we found that the hostel was situated in the center of the city, right in front of an area popular for prostituting. I would petition that hostelbookers remove this hostel from the website.

Liked: Great location and very clean property. If you will be out all day and you aren't in the summer months this property is great. Fast wifi in the common room but it doesn't stretch the 10 feet to our rooms.

Disliked: A stunning lack of facilities on offer. There is almost no kitchen equipment at all leaving us to have to get bocadillos or cold cuts every day. There is one fridge but no microwave (which would've been really helpful) and no plates or silverware of any kind. At night it gets REALLY hot (Madrid is on its own scorching) but the heat would collect in our room and then we'd open the windows but the property is on a VERY loud street so we either sleep in some heat and really loud noise... or extreme heat. The common area has the fastest wifi we've found in Spain.... but the room is so gloomy. The lights are all on automatic power-saving timers which gets REALLY annoying REALLY quickly. The property owner's husband was helpful but the owner, herself, seemed to treat the customers like children - very strange and difficult to understand rules. For the price we got it at (which the owner let us know was a "steal") at $21 per night pp, I'd recommend the hostel. But anything more - go elsewhere to somewhere with a kitchen and somewhere where the outside is quieter and the inside is more fun.
