Liked: - very close to Alhambra. - swimming pool was cold, but it was great refreshment in the hot weather (more then 35°C). - helpful staff with good English

Disliked: - the elevator was locked and we had a room in 3rd floor and the stairway is quiete narrow to go through with all our luggage. - the water pipes were noisy during the night even we were woken up when someone flushed.

Liked: If you want to see the Alhambra, it's a good location.

Disliked: Wow were the staff unhelpful. Very little english, but that wasn't a problem for me. What did bother me was the unhelpfulness of the staff - and the nagging suspicion I had that my belongings (inside my private room) were sifted through when I was gone (although my room wasn't cleaned during my two days there, my belongings did seem to have been examined). No valuables were taken - I had those on me - but it struck me as a bad sign.

Liked: It is nestled in between two lage hotels a gift shop and a nice little breakfast bar where you can sit and wait for the tourist bus to arrive. This is the terminal for the tourist bus so all you have to do is finish your coffee cross the road walk down the stairs and the bus is waiting for you and at 18 euro for twoday you can't complain there is also a pool on the roof with sun beds available if you fancy a bit of relaxation.

Disliked: Nothing. However if you tried to find it by yourself on your 1st day it will be very tricky. Take a taxi and after that it is plain sailing.

Liked: Cheap, but absolutely not worth saving 2 euros.

Disliked: The defining characteristic of Posada Doña Lupe was the attitude of all the staff members we encountered. A fairly common situation arose where we wished to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day after we had checked out - a practice universally accepted at virtually all hostels I have ever visited. We were then informed the only way we could leave luggage was to be charged 5 euros extra. Not a huge problem, but inconvenient. We returned to be greeted by an angry staff member who told us we had not informed her of the situation, despite the fact that it was clearly agreed the night before and no-one was present in the morning for us to confirm it with. The systemic impoliteness, rudeness and at times hostile confrontation was just one of many reasons why I recommend paying and extra few euros to stay somewhere else.

Liked: it is situated realy near by the alhambra. if u like to get in there in the morning (and in summertime u should) it is really a short walk about less then five minuits. the last bus up from the city is about 11pm. so catch it or have a walk up the hill; 20 min but really nice. bus stops nearly in front of the hotel. the owner understands a little english, but she dont speak it. the daughter, also working there, is very nice and friendly.

Disliked: no breakfast; cold drinks and coffee made from machines/ if they are working. make sure u have some coins- u will find nobody in the morning. or get dressed well and have breakfast in the hotels around (4-5 stars) rooftop closed at 8pm so there was no chance to see the sunset in the evening. swimmingpool is cold and the water smells like everywhere else (chlor?). the bathroom are REALLY small, so when u r sitting on the toilett u even cannot close the door. make sure u stay with a friend when i was asking bout the pool and the rooftop the answer which was given to me was: you payed for the room. everything else is just a bonus :-(

Liked: The property is on the top of the hill next to the Alhambra which is kinda cool but definitely a trek up a hill and further away from town. However the trail there happens to be shady and fun so its not so bad. The pool and patio were nice and refreshing as well in the afternoons, however the pool is enclosed and does not get much sun so is really really cold. More for a dip than a swim.

Disliked: My husband and I were in a tiny room, with an ensuite bathroom that literally you had to contort yourself around the toilet to get into the shower, which was also so small that he couldn't reach the shampoo on the ground with out getting out of the shower! Really really tight! Plus it did not have any ventilation so all of the humidity went right into the room. Also there were signs everywhere to not leave valuables in the room. We had a laptop and so had to carry it around with us. And also felt like we needed to close the windows and lock the doors when we left, which made for hot rooms being hotter. There were no fans or AC and so you had to sleep with the window open which meant that you heard everyone leaving at midnight to go out clubbing and also returning at 4/5 AM. It was basically like being in a dorm bed except you couldn't see anyone, but you could hear everything!!!

Liked: The building was nice and the rooms were okay.

Disliked: Unfriendly and unhelpfull staff that didn't want to provide us any service. It was as if they absolutely hate to run a hostel, but have to because they need the money to fix the nice but old building. The atmosphere was really maffia-like. The common room had a bad atmosphere. It was very dark and the coffee machine etc. weren't working. The front door was closed at night but every room only received one key, even the ones with 4-7 people in them.

Liked: Just across the road from the Alhambra.

Disliked: The door wasn't opened for ages when we arrived (in the afternoon). The common room was dingy, and our room was miniscule. The bathroom was smaller than an aeroplane toilet, so much so that it was impossible to even use the toilet with the door closed! The room smelled bad and had really old bed linen. The bedroom window wouldn't lock and the lock on the door was inadequate, like the kind you get on a bathroom door. They charged 50c extra for the use of their towels - why not add this to the overall price of the room?! I was looking forawrd to using the swimming pool, but it was locked while we were there. If you have any extra money available at all, stay somewhere else!

Liked: I liked the private room we got because it was, well, private. It was not loud or anything crazy like that. The room was very clean, cute, and cozy.

Disliked: I disliked that their pool wasn't open. They should have that on their website. I would only recommend 1, 2 at the most, nights there because the beds were a little sunken and lumpy so I didn't get the best nights sleep. But, it was worth the price.
