Liked: Great place to stay. Only one thing. Make sure you don´t have a middle bed. The bunk beds are triple-tier and I found myself having to slide in and out of the middle bunk. This can be very difficult, especially after a night on the town

Liked: Perfect location, but a little bit difficult to find because the roads in Albaycin make you easy to get lost. You'll need a good map to lead you there if you walk. The staff were nice and friendly. Also it´s a good place to meet travellers. The best part of the hostel is the hammock.

Liked: I really cannot express how wonderful my stay at Makuto was. I would recommend this to anyone. When I first arrived, they showed me around and I immediantly wanted to make another reservation. I was sad to hear it was full but then later on there was an opening and they made room for me. I was very hungry when I came here and so Marta taught me and some other people here how to make Spanish tortilla and treated us to it at her own expense. They make some dishes here for purchase and it´s better priced than most restaurants and if you don´t want to eat here, they recommend places that have good prices and are local. There are instruments to use and movies to watch, a chill room, and the coffee is really good (always a plus). Lots of really nice people and staff, it truely feels like home. When the room wasn´t available to me for the extra day when Makuto was full, one of thestaff members even offered to let me stay at their house. Amazing experience. The place is located pretty central although it has a little bit of a climb up a small hill. Alhambra is close as well as other great places to see with great views. Very easy to find, which is great for travelers not used to the Spanish style narrow streets. They helped me with my Spanish and were able to speak many other languages to other guests. Absolutely loved it. I came alone without expectations and left with gaining new friends and great memories. Thanks so much, Makuto!

Liked: The place and the staff was amazing. Our private room was really clean and comfortable and we could have breakfast freely all the mornings. Staff was friendly and helpful, and allowed us to enjoy our visit to Granada. The building is at same time cool and traditional. I'd be back there and I will recommend this place to all my friends. If you go there, dad recuerdos a Manu!!

Liked: I was traveling with another female friend. We booked over HostelBookers a 4 person female dorm. When we arrived the staff tried to put us in a 6 person mixed dorm. When we mentioned the mistake they'd made, we were made to feel like the people in the wrong putting them out. Not a great experience when you first arrive in Granada.When we were leaving 2 days later we were told the person on reception would call a taxi for us to take us to the train. We woke up early, went to reception - no one was there. We rang the bell & someone finally came, only to tell us they didn't know the number of the taxi and they couldn't help us. By this stage we were running late and had to walk all the way to the bottom of the hill to the main square with all our luggage, thanks to their incompetence. If they said originally they wouldn't be able to help us, we would've been more prepared and left earlier to walk to the main square.The plus side was the atmosphere and the activities the staff provided. Lizzy? Took us on a great walking tour & showed us some amazing places and things. The hostel in general was a great chill out place. Hammocks and cushions everywhere. Really comfortable.Security probably wasn't as good as it could be, but nothing that worried us too much!

Liked: If you are a bit conservative or uptight this place won't be for you. That being said this was one of the best places I've stayed at because it was very very chilled and relaxed, there are hammocks and the staff seem like they are also on a holiday. Free breakfast, free itnernet (which also has a siesta if it doesn't work) and a chill out place. really good place to meet other awesome people, but beware, pretty sure the hostel workers had actually caused a mutiny of former hostel workers. Also free yoga and wine tasting is a lie. but you can begin working for them if you wish, and teach free yoga.

Liked: Very nice, kind of alternative hostel in the middle of the Albayzin. From there, you can easily explore the city by foot, e.g. it's just a five minute walk to the Mirador San Nicolas from where you get a wonderful view of the Alhambra. I loved the hammocks and the relaxed atmosphere there! I would stay there again!

Liked: The people that work there are really cool and it's a super chill atmosphere with a bunch of place to hang out and meet new people. One spot in particular had some guitars where people would randomly start jamming together and more people would come by and join in. Highly recommended. You'll love it. Seriously.

Liked: i have been travelling in spain for 7 weeks and this is by far my favourite hostel in spain... the location is perfect, the staff so friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere is exactly what i wanted. being a single traveller, i was happy to meet many people and hang out in the hammocks... oh and breakfast included... couldnt ask for more...

Liked: WOW ! The place was amazing ! If you can had the chance to eat the common food from the staff, do it ! it's a bit expensive, but REALLY good and you'll discover good plates from Spain. The place is really friendly and comfortable. If you have a chance to go to Granada, this hostel is the place to be :)
