Liked: I booked place in 6 person dorm, but I stayed in 4 person female dorm. Good breakfast, but too small. Nice stuff, clean.

Disliked: Noisy till 24.00 (noisy group activities). No lokers.

Liked: Felt instantly at home and welcomed. Best social atmosphere of any hostel I have stayed in so far on this trip. Staff are so helpful, friendly and ensure you enjoy yourself by getting everyone together to go out and have a few drinks....Marco and Tim both went way above and beyond the call of duty. All the extra stuff is so appreciated - fresh baked bread for breakfast, the lovely cakes, mojitos....... Seriously more hostels should be like Maktub - all about the people! Thanks for an awesome 3 days guys...wish I could have stayed longer.

Disliked: That I had to leave it so soon....after just 3 days it felt already like a family and we were all so bonded that it was very hard to go.

Liked: Staying at Maktub was like staying at a friend's house. Both staff and the other travellers are very friendly. It was a great oportunity to meet very interesting people. In addition I really liked the delicious breakfasts for free.

Disliked: The showers weren't the best in the world....

Liked: Value for money, you don't over pay for what you get. There are plenty of sheets. NO BUGS!!!!!!

Disliked: Did not have 24 hour reception. I informed them of the time on my arrival and they did not answer the door. It is by a restaurant so until 4 AM there is A LOT of noise. Not well lit.

Liked: Loved the place!! A place with a lot of character and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. i felt like staying at a friends house. what more can u ask when traveling? i highly recommand it!

Liked: The location is central to Granada, short bus ride to alhambra and GREAT shopping surrounding the hostel on all sides, great CHEAP grocery store really close and they allow use of kitchen for guests. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in Spain thus far, foam of some type. The people were soooooo amazing at maktub the staff goes above and beyond what is necessary to be hospitable! We went paragliding, and not only was that an amazing experience but they were all so kind and professional the entire time I can honestly say I wasn't afraid for one moment! After we paraglided we went to a nearby bar and has a few drinks and tapas and talked politics :) These guys were SO cool there was not ONE disagreement at the table. GO here STAY HERE you will love it! I cannot wait to go back. great location, safe location, DELICIOUS pies... not to mention, the owner is ammmazingly HOT :D

Liked: Friendly staff, fresh homemade bread for breakfast, the terrace, etc. It´s like staying in your own home rather than one of those big impersonal hostels.

Liked: This hostel is nice and small, the people who work there are really nice and friendly, it is a fun, sociable place to stay. The location is really good, it has a nice roof terrace and a really good atmosphere.

Disliked: It would be good to have lockers but it is such a small hostel and when I was there I felt able to leave my stuff without worrying

Liked: A really great cooking class was recommended by one of the staff.

Disliked: They messed up our booking. There are 3 level high bunk beds, no space in the rooms at all, totally cramped. FREEZING. gross bathroom. beds were dirty and everything was moist..

Liked: The receptionits are amazing, easy going, there's a great atmosphere. Free breakfast at 9am with bread home made!

Liked: This place is super quirky and has a lot of personality. The people are really nice and the location is excellent. There is a roof terrace that is nice to hang out with other people if you need a break from visiting the city.

Disliked: All the rooms are dorm rooms. We stayed in a 5 person room and there was one outlet to share amongst 5 girls. There are also only 2 bathrooms (one toilet, one shower in each). On a non busy weekend maybe that wouldn't be a problem, but you often get caught waiting in a line.
