Liked: I liked that there was a kitchen and a terrace. The staff were really fun, going out all the time etc. Location excellent for the Alhambra and really central. Really easy find from the bus stop. Very clean.

Disliked: There was only two bathrooms. They have 11 people staying one room which means, especially at the weekend, it can get really loud. Don't take locks on the lockers seriously. The key for my locker was the wrong one which meant my stuff wasnt locked up. Nothing got stolen though. Really small place.

Liked: Very nice and relaxing atmosphere and the most beautiful house with a great terrace. The rooms were lovely, they were decorated with old wooden funiture.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The people were friendly.

Disliked: The hot water stopped working during showers. There was no heat at night which made for a very unconfortable sleep. The was no enough breakfest ( included in the price) for everyone.

Liked: The hostel had a bit of charm to it - very small. The staff were all really friendly and up for a chat. The homemade bread for breakfast was good too - though probably not enough for big eaters.

Disliked: The only common room area was the kitchen and it was really small. Tough to find a seat when more than about 4 people were in there.

Liked: Very unique atmosphere and people, but Im not sure the business philosophy of the property is to make money. Great location.

Liked: The location would be pretty hard to beat. It's right next to Plaza Nueva in the center of the old city, so you can easily walk to any of the places worth visiting. It can get a tad noisy outside at night, but if you close the windows it's not a problem. The staff were friendly and sociable, the breakfast was simple but good (and free), and the place is well-connected to the hostel activities scene.

Disliked: The hostel is small (for a hostel), so I wouldn't recommend it to a sole traveler searching for the party scene. Not too many guests during the off-season, although I hear the place is packed in the high-season.

Liked: Small with a cozy atmosphere, I would call the look 'barn-like'. Quite clean. Smell of fresh bread every night. Amazing location!

Disliked: Staff seemed reluctant to help at times. Don't book here if you need to rely on fast Internet especially if you don't have your own computer. Be sure to tell the staff the night before if you need breakfast at the start of the promoted breakfast time. Else you might not find anyone awake. Credit cards accepted at a fee. I went to oasis hostel around the corner for most of my trips and tours. In need of some renovations, which I believe are underway ...

Liked: Fantastic location, just off Plaza Nueva and close to lots of good tapas bars, pubs and clubs. Friendly and helpful staff with a relaxed atmosphere - felt like home.

Disliked: It is small, so when it's not busy it can be hard to meet other people. There are only two bathrooms but there's not a lot of guests so I actually never had a problem having a shower when I wanted to. Sometimes I couldn't get the hot water to work, though.

Disliked: There was only two bathrooms in the whole hostel. This was horrible for trying to take showers and just get ready. Also, there really wasnt any breakfast.

Liked: I had so good time in Maktub and was so sad to leave!!! I definitely recommend Maktub to everyone, it is cozy, fun place to stay, good vegan food every day for reasonable prize, extremely laid back travellers around the world. I immediately felt like home there. And I absolutely will go back there!

Liked: I stayed only one night (2 days) but it was intense experience. I met great people, we had crazy kitchen party, I took flamenco class (they offer it in the hostel), I paraglided and I had good vegan dinner offered by the staff. It is the best hostel I have ever stayed. I loved there EVRYTHING. I am only afraid that this kind of small, family runned, friendly, home-like hostels will disappear soon.
