Liked: At the Garden House Hostel, due to people constantly coming and going, there was never a time when you felt out of place, or a "newcomer". The building was in a slightly further region, and yet easily reachable, and had a perfect garden for barbeques, relaxing or catching up with friends. The rooftop terrace, along with balconies for most rooms, enabled every person to find their own area to unwind in.

Disliked: The only slight downside is the location, simply because as Barcelona is such a vibrant and active city, forcing you to discover new places on foot, it is slightly longer to get to. Saying that however, the metro costs a standard fee of one euro forty five, which takes you from anywhere in the city to Valldaura, where the hostel is tucked away in a quiter area of the Horta District.

Liked: Very nice hostel, friendly and helpfull staff. Really enjoyed our stay here. The location is a bit far from the centre but that's not a problem at all if you travel with the underground. Kitchen is clean and fully equiped. Free wifi but to use one of the computers is 50ct for 15 min. One of the best hostels I stayed in. Common area is a bit small. One of the best hostels I stayed in so far, would defenitely go there again!

Disliked: very few showers when the hostel is fully booked.

Liked: I have never seen a hostel or hotel being cleaned so often. It is a great place to hang out. You can cook your own food, then sit down with a bottle of wine. So friendly, and of course clean...

Disliked: In a very large residential area, so nothing to see unless you take the Metro. It feels quite far away, but in a city with such a great Metro system it is not all that bad.

Liked: The cost of the hostel was very reasonable and it had good kitchen facilites!! :) we got into the hostel very late but when we asked for alternative directions they were emailed through very quickly although it would have been better for them to advise us to just get a taxi as the night bus was far too hard to find!! te staff were friendly and were very helpful!! :)

Disliked: It was quite out of the way which in the day was fine because the underground system is amazing but at 1-2am on your first night or any night of your stay its pretty difficult to get to as the underground stops running at 12.

Liked: very friendly staff, quiet and cosy place, with garden, near metro, nice calmly music in the sitting-room, almost free ice-cream, clean sheets

Liked: really nice place to stay, this hostel located in a very nice and safe community, and it's a very nice old house, people in there are very friendly and helpful:)

Disliked: maybe the toilets aren't enough for so many people in one floor, and no more!

Liked: The staff was incredible and very friendly which helped make the atmosphere very social. Everyone wants to talk and get to know you; everyday I met tons of new people!

Disliked: There is really nothing I can say that I disliked. At first I found the hostel to be too far from where I wanted to sight see but after one night I realized it was the perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Liked: The people that are drawn to staying here are amazing, The place itself is very inviting and makes you feel right at home. The rooms are spacious, the building itself is very beautiful with a gorgeous rooftop terrice, The neighbour hood is very friendly with grocery stores, fruit markets, cafes and pastry shops within 2 blocks in every direction. I wanted to move closer to the city center, but I had such a great time with the people here, that after my 2 night reservation was up, I booked for 4 more nights. Highly reccomended

Disliked: On Hostelbooker they say that they have washing machines, which is not entirely true. They have a send out washing service, which costs 8€. Not the most expensive but when you only have a small load its pretty over priced. The location of the hostel is nice, but you have to plan a full day before leaving, because running back to the hostel to grab something in pretty out of the way. Also the wifi is free but the desktop computers have a coin opperated toll in order to use it. 50 cents for every 15 minutes...

Liked: The hostel was not in the centre but with easy access and in a quiet area. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Also a very clean place.

Liked: Great deal, super friendly staff, great kitchen with everything you need, and very secure.

Disliked: The location was not near city center, about a 20 minute metro ride away, but that also meant it was in a nice quiet neighborhood which was still a plus for me. Oh, but those darn squawking birds were obnoxious in the morning!

Liked: Nice hostel, just don't know if the location is worth it. Oh and stop the feetup hostel playlist please and get some new music.

Liked: Garden House is in a very quiet and nice neighbourhood. If you're looking for some peace it's great. The kitchen is fully equipped. The staff is great. The living room area is a bit small and has little for us to do (no TV, just two or three games, except for the 3 computers with paid internet) but is very welcoming and cozy. Bathrooms were very clean.

Disliked: If, like me, you're looking for some fun in Barcelona, speacially by night it's not so good, because it takes a 20min trip by metro from the hostel to plaza Catalunya (city centre) and between midnight and 5a.m. metros don't work.

Liked: My room had a window

Disliked: I extremely dislike this hostel. It is very sterile, noise echoes throughout the hostel, it is extremely far from the center, you have to pay for internet, and most importantly they did not honor the deposit I paid….they need a lesson in the basics of running a business. I would not recommend this hostel and will not ever stay here again or at any of their other chains. Their showers are also annoying; I could have saved more water if they would have just kept running.

Liked: Wifi throughout the hostel and yard. Kitchen was good. Vending machine - everything costs €1. Not too far from metro. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable.

Disliked: Bottom bunks are very low, not much headroom. Not enough plug-ins in the room. No laundry facilities
