Liked: great staff very downtown close to metro, clean room, great chill out room to meet people and a kitchen. super friendly staff, always ready to help, to chat, to explain. superb hostel!

Disliked: $3 bag storage :/ their is only a single hot plate in the kitchen so dont plan to cook any three course meals

Liked: For a solo traveler, there is no better hostel in Barcelona. There is a great little kitchen/lounge to hang out and meet people, chill out with a glass of wine and make plans for the evening. The whole place feels very cozy and staff encourage people to hang out and meet each other. There is no curfew, so you can come back as late as you want, but they also enforce quiet hours, so if you want to take a break from Barcelona's night life - you can do that. It's also walking distance to many places you'll want to see and the staff can answer just about any question about what you should see.

Disliked: The neighborhood feels a little sketchy. It's not horrible, but plan to take a taxi or walk with other people late at night.

Liked: Staff is very friendly, and place is very clean. Location: very close to La Rambla and an underground station, and somewhat close to the beach (20 min walk).

Liked: Very friendly owner, use her knowledge if you don't know Barcelona (well even if you do!) great place organise sangria nights, bar crawls and free entries to clubs so good for meeting people. It was my first time travelling completely on my own, didn't have any problem meeting people to go out with. Great that you leave your keys behind, one less thing to worry about! It's probably not the place for light sleepers, whilst it's not a party party hostel, it's not the strictest place I've been either. Beds are super comfy, there is air con, the showers are hot (the bathroom is a bit like a sauna actually), for girls there were 3 showers, it was full when i was there but i dicnt have to wait, it's clean and the sheets are free. Stayed in a 6 bed room, it was tight the rooms with more people were better laid out. Location is a couple of mins walk from the bottom of las Ramblas so pretty central, in a residential area, I felt safe there.

Liked: The hostel is kept very clean and efficient, Mama was very sweet as she made sangria for everyone on Monday, I was there during Festa de Sant Joan and she made sure we all had wine and the special cake! The social atmosphere is generally good.

Disliked: 1) The common area closes at 2am, but I was not able to use my laptop and stay there even though I was not talking or making noise, however I understand this keeps the entire hostel quiet after hours, 2) the breakfast is minimal with just toast and cereal, but I would have hoped for something more given the hostel is more expensive than others. The hostel is run more strictly than other hostels I've been to, 3) it's expensive.

Liked: Very clean and great atmosphere. I traveled alone and met a lot of great people. Great location if you really want to see the city. Walking distance to almost everything.

Disliked: Lobby closes at one so you have to leave by then or go somewhere to hang out or get work done.

Liked: The place is exceptionally clean and offers free wifi.

Disliked: The people who work there are very annoying and really strict. If you come in after 1, you can´t make any noise. In fact two people were making out in the shower one night and the guy on duty kicked kicked the two of them and their two friends out of the hostel which I thought was a horrible thing to do.

Liked: The hostel has a fantastic location next to the ramblas and other metro stations and is really clean and well run. The showers and bathroom are clean and generally there is hot water available throughout the day. The other guests were good fun and up for going out together. The owner of the hostel is absolutely lovely

Disliked: The nightwatchman is very strict and a bit of a drama queen. If you make any noise coming in from a club he will threaten to throw you out and call the police. It is an empty threat but is still unnecessary. In the morning you are generally happy to laugh about it.

Liked: Everything! The staff were awesome, the common room was always a great place, the internet/computers were free, it was steps away from La Rambla.

Disliked: Nothing! Although it was a bit tight in our room when there was a person in the 5th bed.

Liked: Close to Las Rambla street. Pub crawl gets you hammered off 13 euro. Simple breakfast (cereal, toast, coffee, nutella). Chill hang out area to meet people and its small so you are gaurenteed to see/meet everyone at the hostal.

Disliked: Good times will depend on who is at the hostel because its small.

Liked: Definitely a fun hostel to stay at. They organised some events, such as a pub crawl and ´sangria night´, which helped people make friends. It was fairly close to La Rambla and was very very clean and security was excellent.

Disliked: Nothing against the hostel, however, as a non Spanish speaking person, travelling alone, there were quite a number of people in the hostel who I had difficulty talking with. Everyone made an effort though, which was lovely.

Liked: The quality and cleanliness of the property and the amount of young travellers i got to meet - made the atmosphere alot better.

Disliked: The strictness of the night staff. A whisper to your friend on the opposite bunk will have the night staff threatening to call the police.
