Liked: This hostel is perfect!! All members of the staff went out of their way to help. It is also brand new, you don't even need to bring your own lock as their locker gives you a key. Free internet, super comfortable, cozy warm beds, and best of all - the location!! Right next to the best part of Rambla Catalunya and a couple of blocks from Passeig de Gràcia, including subway station. Room 10 is right in front of the bathroom, makes you feel like you're in a private room.Stay at SOMNIO!!!!

Liked: Location was perfect ! I booked a dorm but it all got muddled up and i ended up having my own twin room for my stay so i dont actually know what the dorms are like but my room was great - i even had a nice view ! The bathroom was spotless and the staff were lovely and really helpful ! The only thing i would say is there wasnt really a common area - you could hang out around the reception area and there was a computer there for internet access but you wouldnt really have relaxed there but then its Barcelona so there was plenty of places to do that ! * * * TOURIST TRAP ALERT * * * If you pay to go into the Sagrada da Whatsy make sure that the lift is running because u arent allowed to stairs it and the lift only runs for a few hours a day oh and be aware that the inside is a building site - however that said i actually really liked the industrial thing next to the old stuff and the museum in the basement was good !

Liked: I read a review prior to booking from a traveller that didn't get any sleep because the walls were 'paper-thin'. It was absolutely true. I may have had 2-3 hours of sleep but not in a row. There are adjoining balcony doors where people from other rooms can walk out and although smoking is prohibited there, it was done all night long. The smoke and quiet conversation both poured into my room. The location is excellent, and the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful! Hated the noise, loved everything else.

Liked: Great location! In the heart of the city, steps away from popular tapa places and cervecerias; yet calm and peaceful in and around the hostel.. Friendly, smiling and helpful staff.. Clean linens and comfortable bed&cushions, tiny en suite bathroom. In the mornings, one cannot avoid counting the slapping doors of the shared bathroom. Would not say "great value" for what you pay (considering the early reservation prices of 4*hotels) however sometimes being in the nutshell of the city pays for itself I guess! Stay there if you're looking for a hotel-to-be hostel..

Liked: Great location and very safe. Staff was super helpful, especially Paulina. I would definetly say it surpassed all my expectations. I would recommend the Somnio to anyone who is traveling to Barcelona. Overall, I would rate the Somnio an A+++!

Liked: Friendly staff and very central location. The breakfast is unfortunately poor: 1 muffin, tea/coffee, oranje juice and a few slices of orange/apple. Can you start your exploring day on 1 muffin ? The cleaning of the room took place every second day.

Liked: Great hostel, in a great location. Only issue that may be presented for some is that there is not really a common room area for people to meet. I didn't mind as I was there to meet up with friends studying in Barcelona, but those who are traveling alone might find it a little more troublesome. Overall though, a great hostel, with very clean rooms, situated in a great place, friendly staff, and secure location.

Liked: This was the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They were able to help me find the tourist attractions as well as where to go out at night. It was VERY clean. Comfortable bed. Clean showers. Stay here if you go to Barcelona!
