Liked: It was in an incredible location, located between two key metro stops and steps away from the Old Town. In addition, the hostel itself was really chill, super comfortable, clean, and the common area felt really welcoming and social. Another thing is that they have 24 hours access to the building and a 24 hour concierge, so when we arrived at 1:30am, we were still allowed to check in and get our rooms, unlike some other hostels.

Disliked: There were few things I disliked, but the one complaint was that the late-night receptionist was definitely high when we first arrived. No matter, we got accomplished what we needed.

Liked: pretty well located... nice staff, pretty good beds, and bathrooms...

Liked: Clean and comfortable beds. In a very good location. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Lockers were outside the room, very troublesome and the rooms cannot be locked. But other than that, a very good stay.

Liked: Great location! Extremely helpful and friendly staff, very interested in helping you out. Not a mega-hostel but feels much more personal, more oriented in meeting people. Free internet was very nice.

Disliked: No free breakfast, but there are plenty of places nearby to eat cheaply and the staff gives you a map of good places when you check in (very helpful). Only thing I didn't like was that each dorm was not locked.

Liked: Staff was great and everything was clean. Location was awesome, close enough to everything, but a block or two away from the busy places which was nice. The staff was very helpful with everything, especially suggesting what sites to see and how to get to them. I felt safe the whole time and didn't worry about getting stuff taken either. I would definitely stay here!

Disliked: The hostel is situated on a big street and it was very loud, hard to get sleep.

Liked: Friendly staff, small and cosy. Hostel is located in an attractive historic building.

Disliked: The lockers and toilets are outside the room. This makes it very difficult when changing clothes and packing.

Liked: This Hostel locationed in the heart of Barcelona. If you want to be close to the city center, you can stay there complacency. And foot note for türkishes peaple, the owner of the hostel can speak turkish:) We called him Levent, Because his name was very similar to Levent.

Liked: this was my second time at Alternative and again it was an awesome experience. staff took guest out to live music shows and the atmosphere at the hostel is fantastic, staff are super helpful and friendly and I felt very safe there, which is important when you travel by yourself. also a great plus is the cleanliness and the location. I loved my stay and will be back for sure. thanxxx

Liked: This is definitely a hostel for me. Really good location, just few steps away from Plaza Catalunya where you can find all the bus from and to International Airport. Free wifi, everything is really clean and Al is extremetly nice and helpful. But... there is one thing I dont like that is the staff worked in the night shift in the night 19th and 20th March, the guy with bald head. He does not look and behave friendly. Talked to him few times and saw him talk to others. He did not really give a welcome attitude.

Liked: The location is great! only 5 mins walk from las ramblas and subway. nevertheless for any other extra services you have to pay extra, i.e. towel, linens, etc. the kitchen is very small, 2 square meters. the walls between the rooms are "transparent". the common room is just next to the rooms so after midnight it is impossible to interact. Ali the owner was very helpful with advices what to see and where to go. the rooms are ok but the matrasses are quite old.
