The room is smaller than what we expected - we barely fitted 2 medium size luggages in the room. Bathroom is so tiny but at least it's clean. The free wi-fi service is very poor - disconnected itself every 5 - 10 minutes and very slow indeed. We hardly uploaded any picture to our blogs. Kitchen facilities are OK but no English channel TV.

clean , quiet , v close walking to las ramblas and a metro stop . easy to get to from the airport . rooms are good with air con and free wifi . use of a kitchen and tv , if for some reason you want to stay in .

The only good thing is to be able to cook your own food, because it is really expensive to eat in Barcelona. The bad things; they never clean the room, we had 7 nights there and they never clean the room. The rooms are also very narrow and the bathroom as well. Hotel is very far away from the metro station Poble Sec, and because you have to use metro to go anywhere from the hotel, it is very irritating to walk metro.

A large, modern and clean hostal on the face of things. Fairly good location (about 15mins walk to ramblas). A small pool and terrace area on the roof which was nice, but there was no atmosphere. Alot of rules made me feel like I was at school rather than travelling Europe (no drinking, no smoking, no noise, not allowed to use the safe unless you pay a nightly fee, basically not allowed to do anything now go to your room!!!!). The room and communial kitchen were nice and modern, but our room was very small and not cleaned for 5 days. In fact it was so small that we couldnt keep it clean or dry the towels etc that the hostal provided. We also had the pleasure of the people next door banging on our wall if we made the slightest of noises (even at about 11pm on a Friday night in Barcelona!) I would stay again if I had to but would recommend you find somewhere better with at least a bit of atmosphere.

Although i enjoyed my stay, I wouldn't come back to melon district because once we checked out of our rooms, all the services were gone to us, we couldnt even use the toilet, couldnt use the kitchen even though they were all empty. Our flight was at 9.30pm, so we had no choice but to wait in the lobby! If you have to wait for a return flight then i do not recommend staying here! All other hostel i have been to let you check out all you bags from you room but then stay around until u were leaving! I think thats a courtious thing to do.

Very nice place and close to the beach and the city center, If i come to Barcelona again i would stay at melon district hostel again.
