Liked: Although there was a bit of a mix-up with the reservations & I had to move rooms owner was very helpful. They couldn't speak English and as I have very basic Spanish it was a bit of a struggle but with the help of Google translate we managed.

Disliked: When one of the doors fell off the drawers several cockroatches promptly ran across the floor. Rooms are very small & the beds are not the comfiest. Also, no air-conditioning.

Disliked: It was not as clean as I would like specially in the first day but it wasn't dirty.

Liked: Hostal Lazza is only a few blocks away from the metro network and the Sagrada Familia, the room was really quiet and we got our own bathroom. The bed was okay, its good value for your money.

Disliked: Our check-in went alright, but there were other people who couldn't check in and had to wait outside because there was no one at the reception.

Liked: Clean and cozy! The surroundings are noisy, however walls are thin, so there is still some noise. I had hot shower all the time (after a few minutes needed for the water to worm up). I had my own keys so I could come and go at any hour. Daily room-keeping, with clean towels every day was super! The surroundings felt safe, we were not afraid to come and go in the night. Metro is within reasonable distance.

Disliked: The layout of the room and bathroom is not very fortunate, although there is a door between the room and bathroom, you can see and hear everything. This is not nice at all. Inn addition, the toilet has a pump, which is so noisy that wakes up the neighbor too, so you are afraid to go to the toilet in the night cause of the horrifying noises. Walls and door are thin, so this might be disturbing. Staff are nice but they don't speak English at all, and are very loud and annoying.

Liked: a cheap option if you want an ensuite room, decent, hot water, big bed, TV, clean the location is perfect. it's much safer to stay in this area than in the old center. friendly staff, they cleaned the room

Disliked: when they say it's modest, that's true, but again, you can't really find something better in this money. room was interior, so no view, no sun and no light.

Liked: clean room

Disliked: after booking in there was no one at the desk until we left the following morning at 11 am. Our key to the outside door was difficult to use and we were locked out of the building for over an hour at midnight and the following morning for 1/2 hour. There was no one at the desk to book out and so we left the key at the desk - not good!!!

Liked: the location is ideal, walking distance to Sagrada Familia.

Disliked: it is not worth the money, boring place to stay at. You don't even see the receptionist. No breakfast.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We arrived there after an all night bus trip at 7am. Hostal Lazzo claims to have a 24 hour reception however this is not the case. We waited there for 2 hours for someone to arrive only to find that they had overbooked and had nowhere for us to stay. The woman there organised us alternate accommodation however she did not speak any english. She called a cab to take us to our new accommodation and gave us money for the cab. The cab driver told us that the money she gave us would not be enough for half the cost of the trip but when we asked her for more money she slammed the door in our face. Our deposit was not refunded. The area was average and the place that we were moved to was not good value for money.

Liked: Very friendly staff, clean rooms, about 2-3 blocks from Sagrada Familia, safe and secure, everything you need on a holiday. I would recommend it to everyone visiting Barcelona. The lady at the front desk didn't speak english very well, but she was more than nice with us. All in all, one of the nicest hostels I've ever been!

Liked: The building does not have any type of soundproofing, so you can hear absolutely everything the staff or the neighbours are doing or saying. The bed was not comfortable, and there was no complete wall between the toilet and the room.If you want a hostel with a truly central location, this is not the place. But there are wo metro stations nearby so you get to anywhere in barcelona easily.The staff does not speak english.The hostel is clean and feels safe and it's located in a nice area. There are many restaurants nearby and also many cafes where you can get breakfast.Not the best place but on the other hand it's pretty cheap.

Liked: Nice location (beside Sagrada Familia, cafés for breakfast at every corner) and friendly staff. We got equiped with a fan and the windows goold be openenend, so enough cooling in the warm summernights. Room was not too clean, and the shower did not give warm water all the time..
