Overview
‘Albergue Rural Ruta del Califato’ is located in the historical centre of Baena, in between Cordoba and Granada as part of the ‘Caliph’s Route’.
Baena is at the southeast to the province of Cordoba, in between Cordoba and Granada and is part of the itinerary European Cultural; ‘Caliph’s Route’. This route is not just a lesson in history. It is also aesthetic enjoyment, and pleasure for the senses. It is forty minutes away from Cordoba city by car and one hour away from Cordoba city by bus, very good transport connections.
The town sits on the side of a hill, forming a network of narrow, winding streets, dotted by traditional houses and ancestral homes. A landscape of olive orchards and cereal fields surrounds it.
Our hostel has a capacity for forty four people and contains a patio, living room with a TV and a meeting room where you can use Internet and organize your own activities in group or on your own. There are twelve rooms acclimatized distributed in two houses of typical Andalusia architecture connected by a genuine bridge. We have twins, doubles, quadruples and rooms for six people. Remember that we always have an offer that allows a group of twenty to take a friend number 21 for free.
There is also a lovely ‘Mesón’ where you can delight yourself with our regional gastronomy; all the dishes will be fresh and home made. It contains a big dining room.
Activities:
Music and Dance: initiation of Flamenco dance
Craftwork: Maché paper lamps
Health: Yoga and Relaxation
Auto help: positive affirmations (mantras)
The historic quarter of the city is located on the higher side of the hill. Its monuments include the church of Santa María la Mayor, from the 16th century (although some evidence suggests that it dates back to the 13th century); the church of Madre de Dios, founded in 1510, and the old castle-citadel, from the 9th century, with several gateways to the walled enclosure. And many more!
