Liked: Mr bonk has 3 hostels in the same area. I have been allocated to the one nearer to the road. It is extremely convenient. walking distance to the train station 10 mins. For taxi just mention the university name which is 1 min away from the hostel. plenty of low cost eateries and coffee along the way.

Disliked: bathroom water heater takes a lil longer to warm up and the water pressure is low. although this isnt that important, it was COLD while we were there so it means a lot to stand there and wait.

Liked: great location, very friendly and helpful staff, Bong bar next door with a free drink every night for all guests is a good meeting point.

Disliked: Water was leaking through the ceiling in one of the bathrooms, which was not fixed throughout my stay.

Liked: The location is perfect for navigating the city. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating.

Liked: Helped by a very friendly Mr Bong, room small but clean and more than one bathroom/shower room. He also let us leave our luggage there free all day while we went out exploring.

Disliked: Listing on hostelbookers said free towel but when we got there it was 2000 or 3000 won to rent one. It also said one free drink for every night you stay but nothing was said about this when we checked in. Bedding wasn't sufficient, only provided with a duvet cover without any duvet inside it.

Liked: The staff and other people staying at the hostel were all very helpful and nice and the location is great if you want to have easy access to stores, restaurants/bars and public transportation. Safety was no issue and my room was clean and comfortable.

Disliked: Garbage disposal is a bit complicated

Liked: Free laundry, very good location, free drink every night in the bar next door (although some nights the bar was closed and we didn't get ours), staff were helpful.

Disliked: Internet can only be used until midnight - which can be a problem if your skype-ing people back home. The live in staff are in the common areas all the time, meaning less room for guests to relax in. Could only find one tiny bin in the whole place!

Liked: Our private room was the best I have ever stayed in - as far as amenities go. We had our own TV, computer, and bathroom. I don't know if every room comes like that, but it was certainly very nice for us.

Disliked: The pillows are kind of weird, Korean-style or something.

Liked: The staff was great, so helpful in answering questions and booking a tour for me.. the hostel's bar was a great place to meet other travellers and have fun at the end of the day... the hostel is also in a very up-and-coming university neighbourhood so there are lots of shops and restaurants, it's a pretty lively place 24 hours a day!!

Disliked: The dorm room was really HOT to sleep in... a/c should have been turned on. The bathrooms were alright but could have been a little tidier. Not much to complain about though.

Liked: It is quite close to the subway stop. The area isn't a party central like Hongdae or Itaewon but it was still cool.

Disliked: I did not like the beds, OMG, seriously. The pillows feel like they are made from sand and the mattresses are super hard. I'm not usually fussy like that but these were not comfortable. Besides that it was great, our little 6 person room was a little house!

Liked: Hostel is in a good location in the University area - place was clean and hostel bar was great.

Disliked: Nothing much - an extra bathroom would have been useful but otherwise it was a great place and I would def go back.

Liked: Awesome guesthouse!! Had a blast staying here. Met lots of friendly people, location is great. You feel like home in Mr Bong's house. I would definitely recommend it!

Liked: Mr Bong was very nice and helpful. My reservation was not found, but he made up a triple room immediatly and allowed me to check in right away since I had not slept in two days. I rested up very well in a comfortable room. Thank you Mr Bong!

Disliked: The door lock to my room would be easily picked by a thief...but the people were all nice and honest looking. There are small lockers too. I arrived at 9 am(which is listed on the website as earliest arrival time), no one answered the door. It was very cold and I was lost, carrying heavy luggage...so I sat in a nearby bakery for over an hour waiting for a better time. It was worth the wait though.

Liked: Great location. University neighbourhood so lots of cheap and lively food/entertainment at night. Very friendly staff. Free laundry! Can also book quite a few tours, including the DMZ tour.

Disliked: Some may find it too communal but that's the whole Korean experience!

Liked: 5 minutes from a subway stop, and a bar that stays open to all hours of the night.

Disliked: No extras: towel, soap, etc. Not that I expect them from this type of property, but my supplies are low from a few weeks of travelling.

Liked: Bong Bar and the "B & B" (Bed & Beer) spirit. Pretty quite place but at that time it was totally off-season/not many people.

Liked: Mr. Bong is fantastic. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I can't speak Korean and was having some difficulty ordering vegetarian food so Mr. Bong walked me to a nearby restaurant and got them to make something delicious. The Bong Bar is fun and the place feels very safe and cozy.

Disliked: Timothy left no negative feedback.
