Word of Mouth Backpackers is a small and personal hostel, centrally located in the city.
We offer dorm beds, single, double and triple rooms, most with comfy mattresses and duck down pillows. We do however have 2 crappy dorm beds and 1 sh*tty double we keep for people we don't like!
We have ADSL internet, Satellite TV, a public phone, a toll free emergency number. We also have lock-up safes, luggage storage and mail holding services. Over the last 10.5 years we have earned the reputation as one of the most secure hostels in Africa!
You can book a variety of exciting day trips, tours and overland adventures while relaxing in the sun. We can also secure cheap rental cars for you. Should you need anything else, all you have to do is ask and we will shop around for the best deals for you. I'll be surprised if we actually have to, after a decade we know what's cooking!
We are located about 10 minutes drive away from the bus/train station, and close to all the shops, restaurants, banks and other amenities. We offer reasonably priced airport shuttles during office hours. We do not offer free pick-ups from the bus/train station.
All the staff at Word of Mouth speaks fluent English and are very friendly and helpful. We look forward to having you stay with us soon!
Disclosure: We are building 7 ensuite doubles as well as 4 extra doubles as soon as the plans are passed, should be 2006. We have also bought our pool - should go in shortly. We also don't suffer fools so if you are going to ask the same question 10 times please go somewhere else.... We are for serious travellers only - that is why we offer unlimited broadband for R20pp/day
