Nelson Mandela Bay, previously known as Port Elizabeth, is situated on the sunshine coast of South Africa.

This city is a great starting or finishing destination for any Garden Route adventure and is the perfect spot from which to explore the region’s rich history (frontier wars) and culture (Xhosa & British Settlers). Nearby attractions include the Cape Receife Nature Reserve (home of the rare oyster catcher), Addo Elephant National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, the surfing Mecca’s of Jeffreys Bay and St Francis Bay, the Karoo and many more fabulous destinations.

The Garden Route is renowned for the multitude of activities it offer, whether you want to bungee from the Bloukrans Bridge, swing in Tree tops or explore the bush on a Elephant Back Safari – the Garden Route has more than 50 activities to choose from.

Mandela Bay Safari Club & Backpackers is centrally situated in the historical suburb of Mount Croix, close to the CBD of Port Elizabeth, on the Garden Route of South Africa. The Backpackers is located within walking distance to a bus route which can take you to shopping malls, the beach and the famous St Georges Sports Grounds or 2010 Soccer World Cup Stadium.

Mandela Bay Safari Club & Backpackers offers guests the option of a double room, a triple room and one large comfortable dorm room, with en-suite bathroom. Features included is a Travel Centre, where you can book daytrips or tours/safari’s throughout Southern Africa, free Wi-fi hotspot, chill room with games and DSTV channels and outside BBQ. There is a communal fitted kitchen and large bathrooms. Our main feature is that we have the Wicked Campers booking office on the premises and you can book and rent your camper van from the travel office. Our Travel office will also assist with discounted reservations and travel advice to South Africa and other Africa destinations.
