Liked: Very friendly atmosphere and a great place to chill out. Nice size pool and clean outdoor space to relax. Close enough to the airport, shuttles on offer to go anywhere, big kitchen, fast internet. I felt really at home and comfortable and met some interesting people. Quiet location and felt secure.

Liked: Quiet area.

Disliked: Staff was rude over the phone. Was placed in a room that smelled horrible. Ants were nesting on the wall under the window. There were constant streams of them coming in and out. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The property was not secure. Anyone could walk in and out of some of the units.

Liked: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They did come to pick us up from the airport which was great. The location is good, close enough to the airport and city centre but a cab ride anywhere will run you at least $20US.

Disliked: The property is nice but there are a few things in dis-repair. However, overall it has all the amenities you will need. The security of the building isn't top-notch but yet we never felt uncomfortable during our stay.

Liked: Everyone had a great story to tell about nearly getting killed in south africa

Disliked: The front gate is like a fortress and noone answers the buzzer when you press it... I had to go round the back and enter through the dark ally to get in... No one stopped me, No security.

Liked: Nice home-feel to this hostel with the two family dogs. offer a driver service. nice garden and swimming pool even though it's too cold outside to enjoy it.

Disliked: Rooms are very cold in winter, even colder than outside! Breakfast at R30 is a joke as it's DIY.

Liked: The property was very secure with two gorgeous guard dogs. My room was clean, but a bit cold.

Disliked: The was no 'free' transport to and from the airport. I had to pay for a taxi both ways because I was told the wait would be 2 hours (when I landed) and the ride that was going the next day never happened. Apparently the driver had a day off because it was 'quiet' so they told me to get a taxi. I think the free transport piece is false advertising.

Liked: Free airport drop-off. Close to restaurants. Unfortunately, all our food was taken out of the fridge(stolen) . The extra rooms need some serious refurbishment. Showers and kitchen are not working yet.

Liked: this was by far the best backpackers i have ever stayed, we were made to feel welcome from the start, nothin was too much trouble for the staff, the airport pick up a bonus, amazin pool, very friendly atmosphere, extremely good value tours and shuttle service to various attractions, hot showers, there is nothin i could find fault with.amazing value for the price i would wivout doubt reccomend this hostel to anyone, and cant wait to go back on my next trip.

Liked: we only spent one night. but the hostel is very far away from joburg airport. there is a free pick upservice, but we had to wait for it more than one hour (when beeing told it'd be there in 20 min) - but that wasnt too bad. the rooms where fine,although the bedsheets werent all that clean. what was really bad though was the bathroom. the shared bathroom was very dirty and filthy. the floor was flooded from the shower,so you could not use the toilet - not that you volantarily wanted to anyway. on top of that you could not lock the door. which is particularly funny for girls when showering. the staff was friendly.the doubhle room cost 200 rand, which is really cheap. i guess for that money it was ok (but only for one night).

Liked: It wasn't very clean, the rooms were good enough (was winter and there was no blanquit I had to sleep in my sleepng bag, there was too cold ), but we had a really good time because the staff is really cool, and dinner is great to meet people in the bar, the location is far from the downtown, so you should take a taxi.
