Our apartments are located in a tranquil suburb north of Johannesburg in a lovely secure complex with a clubhouse, tennis court, 2 sparkling swimming pools, and 2 lovely braai areas. The complex is set in a magnificent garden, perfect for morning and sunset walks. We invite you to an unforgettable and relaxing stay. We are a 5 minute walk to the famous Montecasino and the local Fourways and Pineslopes Malls where you can find all the major banks and shops. It is an 8 minute drive to Sandton City and a 20 minute drive to the Johannesburg International Airport .

Wonderful for a family on holiday or group of up to 4 friends visiting South Africa whether on business or on pleasure.

Accommodation Information

Mawuya Self catering Apartments comprise the following:

2 fully furnished bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults (a max of 2 in each bed room). One extra person can be accommodated by sleeping on a sleeper-couch in the lounge/TV area.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge and a freezer, a microwave, dishes for your use and 4 plate stove (with oven and hob).

Mawuya Apartment is surrounded by up to 60 restaurants that are all within a 3 km radius from the lodge. This makes it extremely convenient for our guests as they have a wide variety of choice from preparing their own dishes in their privacy to enjoying the locally prepared dishes whilst enjoying the company of the local people.

Location Information

We are situated near the following attractions:

• 20 minute drive to/from the Johannesburg International Airport
• 5 minute walk to the famous Montecasino.
• 20 minutes drive to the famous Soweto which is the largest Township in South Africa and which houses 2 Nobel price winners. There's a lot to see in this township including Nelson Mandela's home, experiencing the local Shebeens (formerly illegal bars/nightclubs) and getting a taste of how the local live their day to day lives. You also get to learn about the days of apartheid through several museums that are situated in the area.
• 20 minute drive to Pretoria, South Africa's capital city. Here you get to see the Presidential Office which is a breathtaking view. Lot's to see in this monumental city.
• 15 minute drive to the Maropeng World Heritage Center, otherwise known as the Cradle of Humankind. Maropeng means “returning to the place of origin” in Setswana, the main indigenous language in this area of South Africa. Our ancestors have lived in this area for more than 3-million years. By coming here, you are coming to the birthplace of humanity.
• 15 minute drive to the Rhino and Lion Park. The Rhino and Lion Park "The Nearest Faraway Place" is a privately owned game reserve covering some 1200 hectares which was opened to the public in 1990. After humble beginnings - 2 white rhino and a few assorted small buck - visitors may now view a wide variety of game including some very rare and endangered species. Visitors can expect to see up to 600 head of game. The Reserve falls within the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site(COHWHS).
• 90 minutes drive to the famous Suncity. Suncity is internationally renowned as Africa 's premier holiday resort. Suncity offers a myriad of different entertainment and relaxation opportunities, as well as enough attractions and activities to keep everyone busy. The fabulous Suncity resort complex captivates visitors with its combination of golf, game and gambling as well as world-class hotels. • 90 minute drive to the Pilansberg Game Reserve which lies directly adjacent to the renowned entertainment mecca of Sun City. Not only is Pilanesberg Game Reserve the third largest reserve in the country, but it's also a malaria-free reserve. This makes it the perfect South African family safari destination and the ideal choice for parents with children of all ages, who don't want to worry about the threat of malaria on their holiday. The Pilanesberg Game Reserve, located in the Bojanala Region of South Africa's North West Province, finds itself set apart from other national reserves partly due to the beauty of the Pilanesberg which is mirrored by the manmade Mankwe Dam or "Place of the Leopard" - a vast central lake - and the reserve's unusual setting in the crater of an extinct volcano
• 60 Minutes drive to the Magaliesberg Mountains. There are lots of activities in this area including Camping, hiking and mountain climbing.
