Disliked: It was very cold and I had booked a private room and ahd to use the public toiletws where men were regularily using the womens facilities. I had not been shown he toliets which were available for private rooms.

Liked: A lovely clean quiet place, not far from Jo-burg airport.Everyone was very friendly and helpful, they made it a fun place to stay for a single traveling female or male. I loved it!

Liked: Atmosphere of place is awesome because it is a house with a swimming pool. There is a living area in which people can sit and chat or have some pool party on weekend.

Disliked: Internet is very...very slow, Wi-Fi doesn't work and Computers are old models. They should have upgrade the system or using a good internet provider. Here, Internet isn't free. So, if you want people to pay for Internet, its signal must be good .

Liked: Had a fantastic stay at Accoustix lodge, my room was clean with freshsheets, there was an enormous swimming pool. They where really great hostsand made me feel like we had a home in Joburg. It was a sociable and happyplace. I had a good time with the other guests. I can't wait to back toJoburg and spend some more time at Accoustix Lodge. I recommend them toeveryone I meet who are headed towards Joburg. All in all a great stay. Iwould like to say Thanks to their drivers and all the other staff for makingmy stay such a memorable experience.

Liked: Rooms and kitchen facilities good but bathroom poor.

Disliked: Location is good, you can catch mini buses across the road.They do have safe for valuables. Excellent place to stay! Their staff, have a lot of experience and were amazing in helping me plan my trip ensuring I got the best deals and stayed in the best places along the way. Also, their guides for activities in and around Johannesburg were also great. My trip could not have had a better start! Cheers guys

Liked: This place is just awesome.It is the staff that makes this place shiny! They answer your questions and give personal recommendations - they even hire a car for you so all you have to do is going to the airport and pic it up (or have them bring it to you). I have been to many hostels in my life but this one has been the most fun yet!

Disliked: location. far from everywhere, but that's how it is in Joburg, so it doesn't stand out as a negative feature of this place. use microbusses to get to town. they are cheap and seem safe despite appearences.

Liked: The public area is spacious and good for meeting people.

Disliked: Dorm room is crowded. The bunk beds are shaky. (One of the beds in my room doesn't even have a ladder to climb up.) Pool table is broken. Soundproof of the wall is weak. You can hear people talking and coughing next door or people laughing in the public space. Bathroom experience is the worst. When my friends and I stayed there, there were other male visitors (teenagers) using ladies' room. You never know when a boy will come in when you are taking a shower!

Disliked: When we wanted to make a reservation at the hostel it was about 4 times the price like on hostelbookers. Luckily we checked on hostelbookers again. the staff had absolutly no local knowledge. On the 11th of July (the worldcup was already on for 30 days) and they still could not tell us how to get to the stadium. They just offered a shuttle that was 160,- ZAR. The public transport costs 50 ZAR. We had a reservation for a double room ensuite but they wanted to put us in a dorm with shared bathroom. we had to discuss with them to get our room that we already paid for. Our double room then completly dirty. Trash on the floor. no sheets for the duvets. The bathroom was really clean but had know curtain for the shower, so that the whole room was wet after having a shower. that really sucked. Our carpet was coverd with a thick sheet of dust, and when we asked the staff to clean it they came with a vacuum that didnt work. They had no spare one. I think thats the reason why there was so much dust. they have lots of carpets but no working vacuum cleaner. The kitchen was dirty most of the time, because even the staff didnt clean their dishes after using the kitchen. I woulnt recomend this place!!!

Liked: During World Cup there were a lot of travellers at this hostel and the atmosphere was fantastic, lively and fun.

Disliked: It could not keep the cold out. Location was a bit crappy, had to walk for 15 min to get to their "mall". Taxi is the only way to get back at night and that was expensive (during world cup though)
